What is the reason for vaginal itching and excessive vaginal discharge?

Leucorrhea is a normal secretion from the female private parts. Normal leucorrhea is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid. Leucorrhea that is not colorless and odorless is not normal and may indicate changes in your body. The amount of vaginal discharge varies from person to person, and there is no uniform standard. Sometimes, you may feel itchy in your vagina and have excessive vaginal discharge, but you don’t know why. Here are some reasons for itchy in your vagina and excessive vaginal discharge for patients to refer to.

Itch in the genitals:

1. Chronic local irritation, irritation from abnormal secretions of vulva, vagina and cervix inflammation;

2. Unclean vulva and tight synthetic underwear, sanitary napkins, etc. lead to poor permeability;

3. Vulvar parasitic diseases, such as pubic lice, pinworms, scabies, etc.;

4. Various vulvar skin diseases and vulvar tumors, etc.;

5. Local vulvar symptoms of systemic diseases, such as diabetes, uremia, vitamin deficiency, etc.

Leucorrhea:

One reason: pregnancy

If you are pregnant, there will be a significant increase in leucorrhea. This is because after pregnancy, the estrogen in the body gradually increases with the advancement of pregnancy months. Estrogen can promote the secretion of mucus by the cervix and endometrial glands. The blood flow in the genitals, vagina, and cervix of pregnant women is vigorous, and the tissue water increases, so the secretions also increase, and the amount of leucorrhea also increases accordingly.

Reason 2: Uterine fibroids

Increased leucorrhea, back pain, lower abdominal distension, abdominal pain, shortened menstrual cycle, heavy menstrual flow, and prolonged menstrual period. Irregular vaginal bleeding; abdominal distension, a lump felt in the lower abdomen, or frequent urination, constipation, difficulty in defecation, and infertility.

Reason 3: Cervicitis

The amount of leucorrhea is large, milky white mucous or light yellow purulent, occasionally mixed with a small amount of blood, and there is pain in the lumbar and sacral area and downward pain in the pelvic area, which may cause infertility.

Reason 4: Vaginitis

The amount of leucorrhea increases, and is thin and foamy or white and thick and resembles bean curd residue, and is odorless or has a foul odor. There is itching and burning pain at the vaginal opening and vulva, or pain during sexual intercourse, and sometimes frequent and painful urination, and sometimes hematuria.

Vaginal inflammation and uterine fibroids can also change the physiology of the lower body. When there is inflammation in the lower body, the leucorrhea may appear white and tofu-like instead of a colorless liquid. The reason for vaginal itching and excessive vaginal discharge may be due to infection by microorganisms and bacteria. Therefore, this requires the majority of female friends to keep themselves clean.
