What does the uterus look like?

The uterus is a muscular, thick-walled cavity with a normal shape that is an inverted, slightly flattened pear. It weighs about 50 grams, is 7 to 8 centimeters long, 4 to 5 centimeters wide, 2 to 3 centimeters thick, and has a very small volume. The wider upper end of the uterus is the uterine body, the top is the fundus of the uterus, and the lower part is cylindrical, called the cervix, which connects to the vagina. The uterus is located in the female pelvis, and its adjacent relationships are: the bladder in front, the duodenum behind, the vagina below, and the fallopian tubes and uterus and ovaries on both sides. The normal position of the uterus in adults is an extended flexed position, with four tendons fixing the position of the uterus.

Abnormalities of the uterus often account for a large proportion of abnormalities of male reproductive organs. The main reason for uterine abnormalities is that the uterus is subjected to some kind of stimulation during the development stage, which causes the uterus to stop growing or develop abnormally at a certain stage of growth and development. The abnormality of some uteruses has no effect on all life activities. The patient can have normal menstruation, normal sexual life, and normal pregnancy, just like ordinary people. If there is an abnormality in the uterus, various symptoms will occur. Such as menstrual pain, excessive and prolonged menstrual flow, inability to have a normal sexual life or infertility and other symptoms.

Types of uterine abnormalities include septate uterus, bicornuate uterus, and didelphys. Uterus septum is the most common uterine abnormality, which may cause infertility, repeated miscarriage, placental abruption and other conditions; uterus bicornuate is a milder type of uterine abnormality, which will affect the capacity of the uterus, affect pregnancy, and is prone to miscarriage and premature birth; uterus double is more serious, which may cause symptoms such as excessive menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation, abnormal fetal position after pregnancy, prone to miscarriage, and cesarean section is required for delivery. Some cases of double uterus are accompanied by double vagina, which makes sexual life difficult.

In addition to congenital abnormalities of the uterus, if the acquired maintenance is not taken care of, it will lead to symptoms such as uterine cold and infertility. For example, Wang Xifeng in "Dream of Red Mansions" did not know how to take care of herself when she was young, and then worked hard all day, which led to miscarriage. If you don’t take good care of yourself after having an abortion, your kidney essence, yin and qi will be depleted, and you will eventually suffer from metrorrhagia. Therefore, girls should take good care of themselves and protect their uterus. Eat more red dates, old brown sugar, etc. during menstruation. Keep warm, do not work hard, and do not touch cold water. Ultimately, it is best to avoid having an abortion as it causes great harm to the uterus.
