Our lives are full of happiness, but we cannot avoid various illnesses. Many people think that minor illnesses are nothing and delay seeking treatment. As a result, over time, minor illnesses turn into major illnesses, and it is too late then. Therefore, we should always have detailed information and treatment methods for some minor illnesses so that we can take better care of our bodies. Acute gonococcal urethritis is such a minor disease. Let’s take a look at how to treat it. The characteristics of urinary pain are obvious at the beginning of urination. In severe cases, there is difficulty in urination, fear of urination due to pain or interruption during urination, difficulty in movement, and painful erection of the penis at night. Two weeks after the onset of anterior urethritis, in about 60% of patients, gonococci cross the external sphincter and enter the posterior urethra to continue to cause an inflammatory response. At this time, urinary distress, frequent urination, painful urination, terminal pain, or terminal hematuria often occur. There may be a feeling of heaviness and pain in the perineum, and in severe cases, there may be temporary urinary retention and hematospermia. During an acute gonococcal urethritis attack, patients often have symptoms such as mild fever or fatigue. Sometimes the bilateral inguinal lymph nodes become enlarged, red, swollen, painful, and even fester and ulcerate. Some patients have fever above 38°C and experience general discomfort such as headache. The symptoms of acute gonorrhea may gradually ease after 1 to 2 weeks and may completely disappear after one month. If there is still urine in the morning or after a long period of not urinating, the urethral opening can be glued. After the acute phase, untreated gonorrhea may develop into chronic gonorrhea. (1) Gonorrhea usually remains dormant in the body for 2-7 days. (2) Acute infection: The main manifestations are acute urethritis, with serous or purulent secretions, itching and burning sensation in the urethra, and pain during urination; but there is no urgency or frequency of urination. Most patients often invade the posterior urethra within 1-2 weeks, characterized by frequent urination, urethral distress and dysuria. In addition to urethritis, the paraurethral glands, cervix, and fallopian tubes of women may also be infected. The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge with pus, lower abdominal pain, and frequent urination. (3) Chronic infection: The above symptoms persist for more than one month or acute symptoms recur. The symptoms are not as obvious as those in the acute phase. A small number of patients have no symptoms at all, and urine striae may be the only symptom. Some manifestations are chronic prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymitis, etc. Women may have cervicitis, vestibular glanditis, endometritis, salpingitis, etc. (4) A small number of patients may also suffer from conjunctivitis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, arthritis, and even endocarditis. (5) Gram-negative gonococci may be detected in smears or cultures of urethral or vaginal secretions. We all find it difficult to talk about diseases like acute gonococcal urethritis, so we just put it off. In fact, this approach is extremely wrong and irresponsible to yourself. We should actively learn about the causes and treatments of this disease so that we can properly deal with our symptoms. I hope that after reading the above introduction, you can have an understanding of these treatments, seek early treatment, and protect your body. |
