How to prevent nipple redness and swelling during breastfeeding

Today's parents are paying more and more attention to their children's health and generally choose breastfeeding. Breastfeeding mothers will also experience many uncomfortable reactions. For example, if you breastfeed your baby for a long time, your nipples will become red and swollen. For your own health, how can you prevent redness and swelling of the nipples during breastfeeding?

1. Wet mothers should pay attention to rest, keep a good mood, remain emotionally stable and optimistic, and avoid anger and depression. Because excessive fatigue or adverse mental stimulation can induce or aggravate acute mastitis.

2. The diet should be light and nutritious, such as fresh lotus root, loofah, milk, crucian carp soup, lean meat soup, etc.; avoid spicy, irritating, and greasy foods. Because too greasy food will make the milk too thick, causing blockage of the mammary ducts and inducing acute mastitis.

3. Keep warm and prevent colds. Because external cold or excessive cold can cause poor milk secretion and blockage, which can then induce breast inflammation.

4. Breastfeed on schedule and keep nipples clean, and avoid exposing your breasts when breastfeeding in the wind. You need to express all the milk during each breastfeeding session. If there is still milk accumulation, use a hot towel to apply it and then try to empty the milk as much as possible. If the milk stasis cannot be eliminated, you should go to a breast specialist clinic for treatment in time to avoid the development of acute suppurative mastitis.

5. If the nipple is damaged or cracked, you can rub the affected area with egg yolk oil. When there is purulent inflammation in other parts of the body, it should be treated promptly to prevent the inflammation from affecting the breasts.

6. Maintain the baby's oral hygiene, treat oral inflammation in time, and do not let the baby sleep with breast milk

The above are the prevention methods for red and swollen nipples during lactation. The physical health of breastfeeding women is very important. For their own health and the development of their children, they must create a good development environment for their babies. They should pay attention to eating more fruits and vegetables, which can effectively improve their immunity.
