What’s going on if my leucorrhea becomes yellow and watery?

Do you know what happens when your leucorrhea is yellow and watery? Do you know what to pay attention to when there is abnormality in your leucorrhea? Do you know what role leucorrhea plays in your vagina? Now let us understand the relationship between leucorrhea and female friends and what to do best when your leucorrhea is abnormal. I hope that female friends can be vigilant.

1. What is leucorrhea

Physiological leucorrhea includes secretions from the labia majora and minora, Bartholin's glands, vaginal exudates and cervical glands, as well as a small amount secreted by the endometrium. It is a white, flocculent, viscous liquid, the amount and properties of which vary slightly with the menstrual cycle. In fact, all healthy women under the influence of estrogen have reproductive tract discharge, commonly known as leucorrhea, which should not be understood as a pathology. Among patients who complain of increased leucorrhea, about 10% have physiological leucorrhea, or normal cervical fluid, or normal exfoliation of vaginal epithelial cells. Therefore, for patients with increased leucorrhea, we should first distinguish whether it is physiological or pathological leucorrhea.

2. Normal Leucorrhea

Leucorrhea is a liquid secreted from the female vagina. Under normal circumstances, leucorrhea is milky white, small in amount, odorless and transparent. During puberty, leucorrhea changes due to the influence of estrogen. During ovulation, the amount of leucorrhea is large and resembles egg white. Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell; its secretion amount and texture are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary periodically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and thicknesses. Generally, the amount of leucorrhea is less after the menstrual period; before ovulation, due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body, the epithelial cells of the cervical glands are stimulated to proliferate, the secretion of cervical mucus increases, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus increases, which can absorb more water, causing the leucorrhea to increase during ovulation, and the texture is thin, clear in color, and looks like egg white, which can be stretched into long threads; after ovulation, estrogen levels gradually decrease, progesterone levels increase, the secretion of cervical mucus is inhibited, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus also decreases, making the leucorrhea at this time thick, milky white, with poor ductility, and easy to break when drawn.

3. Causes of yellow watery leucorrhea

If the leucorrhea turns yellow-green or yellow with an odor, is thin and foamy, or is like rice water and grayish white, it is mostly caused by vaginal trichomoniasis. The first reason is that the leucorrhea turns yellow and has an odor or becomes milky white and purulent, often accompanied by abdominal pain, which is generally caused by chronic cervicitis or endocervical endometritis. The second reason is that the leucorrhea turns yellow and becomes a bloody serous or viscous secretion, sometimes mixed with small rotten meat-like substances (looking like yellow sauce soup), which is mostly caused by amoeba infection. The third reason is that when suffering from fallopian tube cancer, the tumor stimulates the fallopian tube epithelium to exude fluid and the diseased tissue to necrotize, and the leucorrhea is mostly intermittent, clear, yellow-red liquid, flowing out of the vagina in bursts continuously. The fourth reason is that the leucorrhea turns yellow-white. Most of the time, it is thick and sometimes thin. It is typically milky white, like bean dregs, or in the form of curd-like white flakes or lumps. Most of the time, it is caused by fungal infection.

The above is a complete explanation of what happens when your leucorrhea is yellow and watery. You must pay attention to it when this happens. It means that your internal vaginal environment is very dirty. You should go to the hospital in time to get some medicine for flushing the internal vagina. But please be careful to use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor, instead of buying medicine at will in a pharmacy or drugstore.
