What are the early symptoms of hemorrhoids in women?

Hemorrhoids are more common in men, and there is a saying that "nine out of ten men have hemorrhoids". As work pressure continues to increase, the number of women suffering from hemorrhoids is also increasing. Since the female vagina is relatively close to the anus, once suffering from hemorrhoids, it may induce gynecological diseases. It is best to understand the symptoms of early hemorrhoids and seek treatment in time when they are discovered. So, what are the early symptoms of hemorrhoids in women?

1. The main symptom of internal hemorrhoids is blood in the stool. Larger internal hemorrhoids are accompanied by prolapse. Due to the different duration of the disease, it can be divided into the following stages.

Early stage: Hemorrhoids are small, soft, and bright red in color. They often bleed due to abrasion by stool. The blood may be in the form of a line like an arrow or in small drops. There is no pain and the hemorrhoids do not prolapse. The characteristic feature is bleeding during bowel movements.

Middle stage: Hemorrhoids are larger and soft, with bright red or purple surface. Hemorrhoids may protrude from the anus during bowel movements and retract on their own after bowel movements. Bleeding may be more or less after bowel movements.

Late stage: Hemorrhoids are larger, harder in texture, and slightly grayish white in surface (i.e. fibrous internal hemorrhoids). Hemorrhoids protrude outside the anus during defecation, or even when walking, coughing, sneezing, or standing. They cannot retract on their own and must be pushed back by hand, or by lying flat or applying hot compresses. There is little or no bleeding in the stool.

Complications: Patients in the middle and late stages may experience anal swelling and itching. If hemorrhoids are acutely thrombotic, they may cause swelling, pain, erosion, necrosis, and even suppuration, followed by anal fistula and other symptoms. Long-term bloody stools can cause anemia.

2. External hemorrhoids occur below the dentate line of the anal canal. They are caused by enlargement, varicose veins or repeated inflammation of the external hemorrhoidal venous plexus. Their surface is covered by skin, is not easy to bleed, and have irregular shapes and sizes.

The main symptoms of external hemorrhoids are heaviness, pain, and a foreign body sensation. According to their development process, they can be divided into skin hemorrhoids, venous hemorrhoids and thrombosed external hemorrhoids.

The above is an introduction to the early symptoms of hemorrhoids in women. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. The presence of a lump in the anus and blood in the stool are typical early symptoms of hemorrhoids. If abnormal conditions can be discovered during this period and women are promptly taken to a regular anorectal hospital for diagnosis and treatment, they can avoid suffering more harm from hemorrhoids.
