Which inflammations can affect fertility?

Inflammation is a common gynecological disease among women. Some women think that inflammation is very dangerous. In fact, this is not wrong. Inflammation often harms women's health at an unpredictable speed when we are not paying attention. Some women are worried that inflammation will affect future fertility. In fact, this is not necessarily the case. Although inflammation is very dangerous, only some inflammations will affect fertility. Now let me tell you which inflammations will affect fertility.

1. Cervicitis: The most common type is chronic, and the pathogens include streptococci, staphylococci, chlamydia, etc. When sperm passes through the cervix, not only will the inflammatory microenvironment of the cervix reduce the motility of the sperm, but the sticky secretions will also make it difficult for the sperm to pass through. The inflammatory secretions will also be toxic to the sperm, causing it to consume too much energy and shorten its lifespan, leading to infertility.

2. Vaginitis: When the vagina becomes inflamed, a large number of pus cells can swallow sperm, which will also reduce sperm motility and shorten sperm survival time. If there are pathogens such as mycoplasma, chlamydia, fungi, gonococci, Trichomonas, etc., they can not only directly devour the sperm, but also reduce the number of sperm and lower the quality.

3. Salpingitis: When the fallopian tubes are inflamed, the mucosal layer becomes inflamed and congested, and the ciliary movement function is impaired or the cilia are damaged, it will affect the transport of sperm and eggs, and may also affect conception. Inflammation in the fallopian tube lumen, adhesions causing blockage or water accumulation, prevent sperm from meeting the egg, and directly cause infertility.

4. Endometritis: If adhesions around the fallopian tubes lead to atresia of the fallopian tube fimbria or fallopian tube peristalsis and the effect of egg collection, the chance of pregnancy will also be reduced. If endometrial inflammation occurs, the normal environment in the uterus will be changed. Even if there are sperm that survive and combine with the egg to form a fertilized egg, it cannot implant in the uterus.

Although only some inflammations will affect fertility, if you find yourself showing signs of inflammation, you must immediately go to the hospital for further examination and also seek quick treatment, because long-term inflammation will have a harmful effect on women's normal life and physical health. I hope that women will pay more attention.
