What should I do if my period is half a month late?

Female friends, every month a relative comes to visit, and that relative is your period. However, women often encounter problems with irregular and delayed menstruation. Postponing it for too long or going ahead of schedule is worrying for female friends. Generally, menstruation has a cycle, and a cycle of about 28 to 32 days is normal. It is understandable to have it earlier or later. However, if your period is half a month late, it is indeed abnormal and deserves attention.

1. Why is my period half a month late?

Women's menstruation is regulated by the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian gonadal axis. Mental factors, mood swings, environmental changes, pregnancy, age, illness, medication, and nutritional status, all factors that cause dysfunction of the gonad axis, can lead to menstrual abnormalities.

2. How to relieve it?

1) Take 30g each of Astragalus, Codonopsis (wrapped in cloth), Chinese Yam and Chinese jujube. Add water and cook until done, season with salt. Remove the medicine bag, drink the soup, both the yam and jujube can be eaten.

2) Eat more lean meat, red amaranth, green vegetables such as spinach, sweet potato leaves, or foods rich in iron such as apples, cherries, and grapes. Treatment should focus on replenishing Qi and nourishing blood. Use 15 grams of cooked rehmannia, 10 grams each of angelica and white peony root, 5 grams of Chuanxiong, half a black-bone chicken, and 3 slices of ginger. Add appropriate amount of water and stew until cooked, then add a few sections of scallion and eat.

3) Take 15 grams of motherwort and 1 egg. Add water and cook. Peel the hard-boiled eggs and eat them with the soup. Treat delayed menstruation or dysmenorrhea. 4) Treatment should be aimed at warming the meridians and dispelling cold, and eating raw and cold foods should be avoided. Use 15 grams of ginger and 10 grams of mugwort. Boil 1 bowl of water until half a bowl remains, remove the residue, peel 1 egg, stir, put into the soup and cook until done. Take 1-2 times a day (the dosage of mugwort should not be too much, 60 grams each time is enough. If too much is consumed, it will cause side effects such as nausea and vomiting).

5) Eat more cooling foods such as celery, lotus root, and loofah, avoid fried, spicy, and irritating foods, and go to bed before 11 p.m. Take 250 grams of lotus root. Wash and chop, add water and cook, season with oil and salt, and eat regularly.

6) Use 10 grams each of hawthorn, tangerine peel, and lotus leaf. Add water to boil the soup, and drink the juice instead of tea.

7) Eat more nourishing foods such as white fungus, mulberries, pears, star fruits, and black plums. Take 10 grams each of white fungus, wolfberry, lily, 12 red dates, and an appropriate amount of rock sugar. Add water and stew before drinking. You can eat more warm foods such as leeks and walnuts.
