Should pregnant women drink more water?

Some people believe that pregnant women cannot drink too much water during pregnancy, as drinking too much water will cause frequent trips to the toilet and add trouble to pregnancy. Moreover, drinking too much water can cause edema in pregnant women, which is very unfavorable for them. So should pregnant women drink more water during pregnancy? After much research, I have come to the following conclusions. Let me share them with you.

1. Should pregnant women drink more water?

Water is very important for a healthy pregnancy. Think of water as your body's transport system, carrying nutrients to your child through the blood. Water can also prevent bladder infections, which are common during pregnancy. So pregnant women need to drink more water!

2. 5 kinds of water that pregnant mothers cannot drink:

1. Repeatedly boiled water

It is enough to boil the water once. If you boil the water repeatedly before drinking it, it will be extremely harmful to the pregnant mother. Because after repeated boiling of water, the concentration of harmful substances such as silver nitrite, nitrite ions, arsenic, etc. in the water will increase. If a pregnant mother drinks repeatedly boiled water, it will cause the low-iron hemoglobin in the blood to combine into high-iron hemoglobin that cannot carry oxygen, which will cause blood poisoning.

2. No boiled tap water

Contrary to repeatedly boiled water, pregnant mothers should not drink tap water that has not been completely boiled. Why? Because before the tap water is boiled, the chlorine in the water interacts with the organic matter remaining in the water to produce a carcinogen called "trihydroxy".

3. Water stored for more than 24 hours

Winter is coming. For pregnant mothers with poorer family conditions, they may be accustomed to boiling water the night before and storing it in a thermos. Continue drinking it after you get up the next day, even if it takes a while, and don't change the thermos until the water is finished. But, do you know? A boiled water bottle is not absolutely heat-insulating, and the water temperature will gradually drop over time. The drop in water temperature will cause the chlorine-containing organic matter in the water to continuously decompose into harmful nitrites, which is very bad for pregnant mothers.

Therefore, drinking more water during pregnancy has many positive effects on the body. However, pregnant mothers should not wait until they feel thirsty to drink water, but should take the initiative to drink water. Pregnant mothers should develop the habit of drinking water actively, put a glass of water at hand, and drink a few sips when they remember, in small amounts and multiple times.
