What causes pain in the vagina?

The symptoms of vaginitis mainly include some inflammation, generally including itching or tingling. Our female friends should go for a gynecological examination at least once a year. Gynecological examination is a very simple examination including some major and minor routine examinations. Women, especially married women, are prone to some gynecological inflammation, especially cervical erosion or cervicitis and vaginitis. The possibility is very high. So what should we do when we have vaginal pain?

Vaginal pain can be divided into primary and secondary, complete and situational. The incidence rate in the population is estimated to be 8% to 35%. Xu Donghua et al reported that among 75 pairs of women of childbearing age, 26 women (35%) complained of pain during sexual intercourse.

Patients report that pain and discomfort may occur at the entrance of the vagina or when the penis is just inserted into the vagina. This is superficial dyspareunia, which may be a conditioned reflex or may only occur when the insertion is very deep. This is dyspareunia at the top of the vagina. Any factors that may limit the rise of the uterus and the expansion of the upper vagina or make the tissue in this area sensitive may cause pain. The pain or discomfort is mostly in the lower abdomen and often lasts from a few hours to a day. Dyspareunia may induce vaginismus and may be followed by decreased sexual desire, arousal, and orgasm.

Causes: Psychological factors are the main cause of vaginal pain. Psychological factors can lead to pain during sexual intercourse. Traumatic experiences in childhood or youth, and previous diseases of the sexual organs can cause psychological trauma or depression to patients. If a woman is subjected to rough sexual intercourse by her husband during the first marriage, the severe pain may also cause her to develop a fear mentality, and the couple's discord may also be expressed in a sexual form. However, when making a diagnosis of dyspareunia, a careful history and a thorough examination must be performed to exclude the presence of obvious or less obvious organic disorders, including a "sharp pubic symphysis."

First of all, we recommend that you go to the hospital for a routine leucorrhea examination to confirm whether you have vaginitis. Then we choose the correct method based on the symptoms we have. This disease is very easy to relapse, so we recommend that you take antibiotics for a long time. Diabetic patients are more prone to relapse.
