Dried Rehmannia root, Chinese yam, Cornus officinalis, Poria cocos, Peony bark, Cinnamon bark, Roasted Aconite root, Chinese tangerine peel, Roasted Licorice root

If the patient is an adolescent or has uterine hypoplasia, add placenta, raspberry, processed Polygonum multiflorum, Cistanche deserticola, purple quartz, Epimedium, and Morinda officinalis to enhance the effect of nourishing the kidney.

If phlegm and dampness are severe, add Fritillaria thunbergii, Gleditsia sinensis, Trillium gracile and pangolin to resolve phlegm and disperse the stagnation.

2. Phlegm-dampness stagnation syndrome

Poria method: Pinellia, tangerine peel, licorice, Atractylodes, Cyperus, Arisaema, Citrus aurantium, Shenqu, ginger, Angelica, Chuanxiong

If the menstrual flow is scanty, delayed or amenorrhea occurs, add Ze Lan and Achyranthes bidentata to nourish blood, promote blood circulation and unblock menstruation.

If there is a lot of phlegm, obesity, and obvious hairiness, add Trillium, pangolin, Gleditsia sinensis, and Acorus calamus to resolve phlegm and activate the meridians.

3. Damp-heat syndrome of liver meridian

Symptoms: amenorrhea, or infrequent and scanty menstruation, or irregular periods, or metrorrhagia, infertility after a long marriage, stout body, thick hair, facial acne, premenstrual breast and flank pain, or galactorrhea, dry mouth and preference for cold drinks, constipation, thin yellow tongue coating, and stringy or rapid pulse.

Prescription: Longdan Xiegan Decoction (Yi Zong Jin Jian)

Gentiana, Gardenia, Scutellaria, Bupleurum, Radix Rehmanniae, Plantago, Alisma, Angelica, Akebia, Licorice

If constipation is obvious, add rhubarb to clear away heat, purge fire and relieve constipation.

If there is milk leakage, add roasted malt to reduce the milk secretion.

If there is fullness in the breast, chest and ribs, add Curcuma, Vaccaria, and Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae to soothe the liver, dredge the meridians and resolve the nodules.
