Is abdominal pain after cesarean section caused by uterine wound?

In recent years, women have chosen cesarean section to maintain their figure. This has indeed made many women have a good figure, and their vagina has not become loose after childbirth. However, the bad thing is that women will have more gynecological complications. For example, abdominal pain after cesarean section is a common symptom for many women. What causes this situation? Let’s listen to the experts’ analysis:

The main reason for abdominal pain after cesarean section is uterine pain. Due to the large wound, wounds deep into the dermis often itch when they are healing quickly. This is because the healing of deeper wounds is filled with a new tissue, which is called connective tissue.

New blood vessels and nerves need to grow connective tissue. These new blood vessels and nerves are particularly dense and crowded together. The new nerves are easily stimulated, and because the nerves are very sensitive, they will produce an itchy feeling.

The regenerative capacity of various tissues in the human body is also different. The regenerative ability of nerve tissue is low and appears later in wound healing. Generally, when the nerves are about to heal, the wound is also about to heal. At this time, new nerve endings and blood vessels have grown into the connective tissue, and local perception is gradually restored, so the wound will itch. As long as there is no redness or swelling it is not a problem.

Under normal circumstances, the uterus will hurt after a cesarean section, but the pain will not last long. If the wound becomes red and swollen, or the pain lasts too long, you should go to the hospital for a check-up to find out what causes the prolonged pain in the uterus after premature delivery.

After delivery, the uterus will undergo tonic contractions to reduce bleeding after placental separation. At this time, a round and hard object often bulges in the lower abdomen. The pain of uterine contraction is often related to the number of births, and is more severe in multiparas than in primiparas. If the contractions are good and there is not much lochia, pain can be relieved by massage and the use of uterine contraction drugs.

The purpose of postpartum uterine contraction is to help stop uterine bleeding, expel residual blood clots in the uterus, and promote uterine recovery. Usually in first-time mothers, the feeling of postpartum pain is less obvious because the uterine muscles are stronger and can contract continuously. The uterus of multiparous women (second or more) cannot contract continuously because the uterine muscles are weaker and must be contracted intermittently, so the pain will be more obvious. Women who are pregnant with multiple babies or have too much amniotic fluid will also have more obvious pain because their muscles are more relaxed and their uterus cannot contract continuously.

Generally speaking, doctors will prescribe drugs to help the uterus contract. Some women in labor react more strongly to uterine contraction drugs and will feel intense uterine contraction pain. In addition, for breastfeeding mothers, the pain will be more severe because the baby's sucking will stimulate the mother's posterior pituitary gland to secrete oxytocin, causing uterine contractions.

Therefore, postpartum mothers should not take abdominal pain after cesarean section as a trivial matter. When the condition is not serious, they should not go to the gynecological hospital for examination and diagnosis for the sake of work and children. If the condition is delayed for a long time, it will cause complications in adjacent organs of the body and lead to the occurrence of gynecological diseases.
