Symptoms and treatment of vulvar swelling and itching

The vulva is the first gateway to the female reproductive organs. If it is not well cared for, it will often cause many gynecological diseases. For example, vulvar itching is a gynecological symptom that female friends are very common to suffer from, and it troubles most women. Some female friends often experience redness and swelling in addition to itching in the vulva. It seriously affects our daily life. Today we will look at the symptoms and effective treatments of redness, swelling and itching of the vulva.

Symptoms: Itch and swelling of the vulva are mostly located on the clitoris and labia minora, and may also affect the labia majora, perineum and even perianal areas. It is often paroxysmal, but can also be continuous, usually worsening at night. Unexplained vulvar itching and swelling usually only occurs in women of childbearing age or after menopause, often affecting the entire vulva, but may also be limited to a certain part or one side of the vulva. Although the itching is very painful and even unbearable, the local skin and mucous membrane appear normal, or there are only scratches due to excessive scratching.

Notes on treatment methods:

1. Fumigation and washing medicines cannot be taken orally. When the outside temperature is high, the fumigation and washing medicines should generally not be left overnight to prevent deterioration. After fumigation, wipe the affected area dry with a soft towel and avoid wind. The temperature of the medicine solution should be appropriate, not too high to avoid burns, nor too low to affect the efficacy. Once a burn occurs, treatment should be suspended and drugs such as gentian violet should be applied to the wound to prevent infection.

2. During the treatment period, you should get enough rest, avoid spicy food and overwork.

3. Pay attention to the treatment of the primary disease, keep the vulva clean and dry, and do not wash it too frequently with soap. Avoid scratching, alcohol and irritating food; to prevent the consequences of vulvar itching from affecting one's life, women should avoid scratching, rubbing, and washing with hot water; appropriately use sedatives, safety drugs, and antihistamines to adjust emotions, reduce anxiety and tension, and relieve itching; use antipruritic drugs topically.

Female friends, once the vulva becomes itchy, red and swollen, do not take it lightly. It means that you have a gynecological disease. You must take it seriously and go to the hospital to see a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment in time to find out the cause and treat it, so as to avoid a minor illness turning into a major one. Finally, I would like to remind everyone that we must care about our reproductive health.
