Is it possible to have deformity after NT?

Is it possible to have deformity after NT?

Whether the baby's development is normal is a question that expectant mothers are more concerned about. Therefore, in the early stages of pregnancy, doctors will recommend expectant mothers to do an NT test, which is a "neck translucency" test. This test can diagnose chromosomal disorders in the early stages of pregnancy, and also detect fetal abnormalities caused by various reasons. Expectant mothers must not miss it. So, what is the practical significance of NT inspection?

Is it possible that the NT has passed and there is a deformity?

NT test is an important prenatal examination indicator during pregnancy. NT test is an important B-ultrasound indicator for early determination of fetal malformation. The standard value of NT should be lower than 2.5. If the B-ultrasound in early pregnancy finds that the standard value of NT is normal, it only means that the early screening has passed, and it cannot guarantee that the fetus is definitely safe. Because the NT test itself is a basic screening and cannot be used as a basis for diagnosis, even if the NT is normal, the fetus may still be deformed. Therefore, in the process of late pregnancy checkups, it is still necessary to carry out pregnancy checkups according to the operating procedures. For example, further invasive DNA or Down syndrome screening is needed to determine whether the fetus has chromosomal abnormalities. At the same time, within 20-30 weeks of pregnancy, B-ultrasound should be performed again to determine whether the fetus has structural abnormalities.

What is the practical significance of NT examination?

1. Doing the NT test is a manifestation of being very responsible to yourself, your family, and even your future children. The fast-paced life in today's society and unsafe food hygiene are all causes of high-risk babies, which are unavoidable. Therefore, we must use the NT test to check whether the fetus is deformed or has manifestations of intellectual disability.

2. The NT test can not only check whether the fetus is normal, but also check whether the fetus is deformed, whether it has any disease, etc. Therefore, the NT test is an examination item that every expectant mother must do nowadays.

3. Down syndrome is a sporadic disease. Every expectant mother has the possibility of giving birth to a "Down syndrome baby", and the probability of giving birth to a Down syndrome baby will increase with the age of the pregnant woman. Therefore, every expectant mother needs to have an NT test. The NT test can detect high-risk patients with Down syndrome as early as possible through an economical, simple and non-invasive testing method, so as to further confirm the diagnosis and minimize the birth rate of Down syndrome babies.
