What should I do if I have red bumps on my genitals?

Sexually transmitted diseases are a kind of disease that people are afraid of nowadays. Everyone is flocking to them, but sexually transmitted diseases are also a very common type of disease. When red bumps appear on a person's genitals, many people will feel panicked and feel that they have been infected with a sexually transmitted disease. However, the presence of bumps on the genitals does not necessarily mean that one has been infected with a sexually transmitted disease. There are other reasons, which will be introduced and explained below.

Be alert to fungal vaginitis, which may cause itching of the vulva and vagina, flushing of the vulva, and dreg-like leucorrhea with an odor. Scratching may cause eczematous changes of the vulvar dermatitis.

Be alert to vaginal trichomoniasis, which can cause itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching.

Be alert to pubic lice. Pubic lice often lie on the surface of the skin or attach to the roots of pubic hair. Pubic lice eggs are grayish white and the size of a pinhead. The bites of pubic lice and their venom and excrement can cause itching and desquamation of the skin.

Be alert to pinworm infection, which mainly affects young girls but can also infect adult women. When the anus relaxes at night, pinworms crawl out of the rectum and swim to the vulva to mate and lay eggs, irritating the skin and mucous membranes of the vulva and causing local itching.

The local skin is unclean. Some women use toilet paper improperly, and the vulva skin is soaked by menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine, feces and sweat, which causes chronic inflammation of the local skin and causes vulva itching.

Drug allergy. "Fixed drug rash" caused by women with allergic constitution taking sulfonamides or other drugs often occurs at the junction of the skin and mucous membrane of the vulva.

Skin diseases of the vulva. The skin lesions of tinea cruris often extend to the vulva, causing severe local itching. The local itching caused by vulvar eczema and neurodermatitis is more severe.

The above describes several possible causes of red bumps on the genitals, but in addition to these, we must also be alert to the possibility of sexually transmitted diseases. For example, sexually transmitted diseases such as genital warts and pseudo-condyloma acuminatum can also cause red bumps on the genitals. Therefore, it is best not to have promiscuous sex in life and to pay attention to the hygiene of sexual life.
