What should I do if my uterine wall is thin after abortion?

In terms of tissue structure, the uterine body is mainly composed of smooth muscle, which is divided into three layers from the outside to the inside: serosa, muscularis and mucosa (i.e. endometrium). We often talk about endometrial thickness, so what is the normal value of endometrial thickness? If the endometrium is not thick enough, we say the uterine wall is thin. A thin uterine wall has a certain impact on the gestation of the embryo. So will artificial abortion lead to a thin uterine wall?

The causes of thin endometrium are divided into systemic factors and local factors. The former includes endocrine disorders, such as low estrogen levels, insufficient progesterone, ovulation disorders and growth hormone deficiency; the latter is mainly endometrial damage, adhesion and absence. In the early stage of hyperplasia: the endometrium is relatively thin, only about 4-6mm. Mid-proliferative phase: The endometrium begins to grow and grows to 8-10mm. Late stage of hyperplasia: The endometrium adjusts and becomes thicker, reaching a thickness of 9-10mm. Late secretory phase: The endometrium thickens to a thickness of about 5-6 mm. The thickness of the endometrium during menstruation can reach 8-10mm.

In fact, artificial abortion will make the uterine wall thinner. Moreover, artificial abortion is the main factor causing thin endometrium. Multiple medical abortions or excessive abortion movements may cause thin endometrium. Some patients even haven't had their periods after an abortion. This shows that an abortion seriously damages the endometrium and causes a thin endometrium. Experts point out that the thin endometrium caused by artificial abortion usually takes a long time to recover, and some patients may not even be able to recover. Therefore, experts especially remind patients that if menstruation does not come on time after an abortion, they must see a doctor for examination.

Treatment of abnormal physiological thin endometrium requires hormone supplementation or surgical treatment depending on the cause.

It turns out that artificial abortion causes such great harm to the uterine wall that if there is a choice, artificial abortion should be avoided. If there is no choice, we should also do a good job of follow-up care and related health care. In addition, the endometrium can be repaired through diet and medication to achieve a balanced state.
