What to do when you have a cold and headache during pregnancy

Women should try to avoid getting sick during pregnancy, because being sick is very harmful to the fetus. Many drugs have very strong side effects, which will cause certain damage to the growth and development of the fetus. Colds are a common disease in life, and pregnant women are weak and are very susceptible to influenza. So what should you do if you have a cold and headache during pregnancy?

Although there are many medicines that pregnant women can take now, it is better not to take medicine for common headaches, colds, or even fevers. Especially for diseases like colds that can heal naturally, there is no need to take medicine. However, it cannot be ignored. The period from when the body becomes sick to when it produces antibodies to treat the disease is one week. However, if a pregnant woman resists for a week, it may affect the development of the fetus in the womb. If the pregnant woman is unwell, the fetus will definitely be affected.

Pregnant women who catch a cold mainly rely on diet to treat it, such as using ginger and sugar water to induce sweating. There are special ginger sugar water now. Remember to choose the one with a higher proportion of ginger, brew it with relatively hot water, drink a cup and then wrap yourself in a quilt to sweat. After sweating, change into dry and comfortable clothes in a room with a high enough temperature. This will make your body feel much better. If a pregnant woman has a cold, she must sleep more, and she can drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed at night, about 100 ml is enough. Drinking too much may cause the pregnant woman to get up at night to go to the toilet.

Some pregnant women will definitely have headaches when they catch a cold. This is due to inflammation. The previous method can be used to treat colds, but headaches can only be relieved by massaging acupoints. The temple is an acupoint specifically for relieving headaches. Gently press it with your fingertips and rub it clockwise, which can relieve headaches to a certain extent.

If the pregnancy has passed the early stages and the fetus is stable, it is time for the pregnant woman to do some prenatal exercises, such as prenatal yoga. These are all exercises with relatively gentle movements. The reason why exercise is recommended is mainly because it can relieve the discomfort caused by colds, help pregnant women detoxify and sweat, and improve the quality of sleep at night.

In order to avoid minor illnesses, pregnant women must enhance their body resistance. The simplest way is to take vitamin lozenges to supplement vitamins and calcium and zinc ions, so that pregnant women will not easily get sick. If the pregnant woman has a good appetite and does not affect eating, eating more fruits and vegetables can also supplement vitamins, which is also good for the fetus.
