What are the treatments for ductal carcinoma?

Breast duct carcinoma is a relatively common disease, and the incidence rate of the disease is relatively high. Female friends must pay attention to it. When symptoms such as breast pain, lumps, and nipple discharge appear, they must pay attention and go to a regular hospital as soon as possible for relevant diagnosis and treatment. So what are the treatments for breast duct carcinoma? Let’s take a closer look.

1) Simple mastectomy: surgical removal of the entire breast with the tumor, and partial axillary lymph node removal at the same time or separately afterwards.

2) Modified radical mastectomy: The entire affected breast and part of the chest wall muscles are surgically removed, and most of the axillary lymph nodes are removed at the same time or later.

3) Radical mastectomy (also called halsted mastectomy): The entire breast with the tumor, the pectoralis major and pectoralis minor muscles are surgically removed, and the axillary lymph node dissection is performed.

Even if surgery removes all visible cancer, patients may still need postoperative adjuvant therapy to remove residual cancer cells, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or endocrine therapy, in order to improve the cure rate.

The incidence of breast cancer continues to rise. Although there have been significant improvements in treatment, many patients still eventually die from metastasis, which is the main reason for the failure of treatment. Breast cancer chemotherapy drugs are one of the treatment methods, and the most effective way to solve this problem is to develop and produce more highly effective and low-toxic breast cancer chemotherapy drugs. Among various cancers, breast cancer is a tumor that is relatively sensitive to anticancer drugs. Therefore, the choice of breast cancer chemotherapy regimen has always played an important role in the comprehensive treatment of breast cancer.

For the treatment of breast ductal carcinoma, surgical treatment can be used, and its treatment effect is relatively significant. Patients can also take more conservative treatment methods and use chemotherapy to treat the disease. After becoming ill, patients should not have psychological burdens and must face the disease optimistically and actively treat the disease.
