It is considered to be gynecological inflammation or pseudo-condyloma acuminatum, and genital warts are not ruled out.

Parafrenulum papules

Disease Introduction

Parafrenulum papules, also known as parafrenulum papular fibromas of the penis, are also considered by some to be parafrenulum gland hyperplasia. Given the frequent association of this lesion with pearly penile papules and its clinical features, it can be considered as pearly penile papules.

Causes

The cause of parafrenulum papules is unknown, but the other causes are the same as those of pearly penile papules.

Clinical manifestations

This lesion occurs on both sides of the frenulum of the penis and is mostly symmetrical, with 1 to 5 lesions on each side. The lesions are papules ranging in size from millet to half a grain of rice, with a smooth surface. No subjective symptoms.

Differential Diagnosis

The lesion can be easily differentiated from condyloma acuminatum based on its location and clinical features.

Disease treatment

Parafrenulum papules do not cause local or systemic health problems and do not require treatment. Keeping the area clean and hygienic can help prevent lesions from getting worse or becoming infected.

Hairy labia minora

Disease Introduction

The labia minora are villus-like. Also known as vulvar pseudocondyloma, other names include vulvar papillary hirsutism, hairy papilloma and vulvar condyloma acuminatum-like papules.

Causes

The cause of this lesion is unknown. Some believe that this lesion is an anatomical variation and a physiological abnormality like pearly penile papules. It has been observed that infection and local conditions such as increased vaginal discharge, poor hygiene, local moisture, and inflammation are precipitating factors.

Clinical manifestations

The lesions mainly occur on the inner side of the labia minora on both sides, and a few occur in the vaginal opening, vaginal vestibule, urethral opening and its surroundings. The lesions are characterized by clustered papules of 1 to 2 mm in size, like fish eggs, and feel granular when touched; some lesions may be arranged in lines or bands, and some lesions may also be villous protrusions, polyp-like, or finger-like. The surface of the lesion is smooth. The color is normal skin and mucous membrane color, light white, light red or brown. Most patients have no symptoms, but a few may experience mild itching.

Differential diagnosis

Villous labia minora can be differentiated from genital warts based on their location, lesion characteristics and negative acetic acid test.

Disease treatment

Villous labia minora do not cause particular problems and usually do not require treatment. Maintaining local cleanliness and hygiene, avoiding friction and other stimulation, and actively treating inflammatory vulvar and vaginal diseases can prevent the occurrence and aggravation of this lesion. Some larger lesions can be removed using laser surgery.
