Results of self-assessment of postpartum depression

The symptoms of postpartum depression are somewhat different from general depression. New mothers may wish to test themselves. The symptoms and feelings are as follows: 1. Low mood during the day and high mood at night, showing a phenomenon of day and night reversal. 2. Losing interest in almost everything, feeling that life is boring and tasteless, and living is a torture. 3. The appetite increases or decreases greatly, and the mother's weight increases or decreases greatly. 4. Poor sleep or severe insomnia, causing drowsiness during the day. 5. Being anxious or dull, often getting angry over trivial matters, or being silent, refusing to eat or drink for several days. 6. Abnormal physical fatigue or weakness. 7. Unable to concentrate, disorganized language expression, lack of logic and comprehensive judgment ability. 8. Have an obvious sense of inferiority, often blame themselves excessively involuntarily, and lack confidence in everything.

1. There are three test results for postpartum depression:

The first case. If you answered "yes" to 5 of the above 9 questions, and this state lasts for 2 weeks, then you should suspect that you are suffering from postpartum depression (postpartum depression, also known as postpartum blues, is a depression caused by physiological and psychological factors after women give birth to a child. Studies show that 50-75% of women will experience a period of "Baby blues" after the birth of their children. Most women have no obvious signs or the signs are fleeting, and they develop a period of unstable emotions in their personality, such as inexplicable crying or bad mood. 10-15% of new mothers become very strong in this situation and attribute it to a disease).

2 If only one of the answers to these 9 questions is "yes", but it occurs every day, then you should be alert that you may be suffering from postpartum depression.

3 If you do not meet the above two conditions, but feel a little depressed, it is very likely that you have postpartum depression (from a physiological point of view, the mother will secrete many hormones to protect the growth of the fetus during pregnancy, but they will gradually disappear within 72 hours after delivery, and will be replaced by other hormones to supply breast milk. During this short period of time, the hormones in the mother's body will undergo drastic changes, leading to various mental anxieties, such as headaches, mild depression, insomnia, easy hair loss, and helplessness. This is the so-called postpartum depression

Self-assessment of postpartum depression is very important for new mothers. It is a test of the changes in their hearts, and it is also a responsibility to themselves and their families.
