Can I still get pregnant after having two miscarriages in one year?

It is not difficult to find in life that many young people or underage girls in love become pregnant due to various reasons such as wrong love or lack of ability, but they do not have the conditions and ability to give birth to the child and can only have an abortion. So what are the downsides of abortion? Are there any other side effects on the body? What are the consequences of too many miscarriages? Let’s take a look.

Termination of pregnancy before 28 weeks of gestation and with a fetal weight of less than 1000g is called abortion. Abortion that occurs before 12 weeks of pregnancy is called early abortion, and abortion that occurs between 12 weeks and less than 28 weeks of pregnancy is called late abortion. Abortion is divided into spontaneous abortion and induced abortion. The incidence of spontaneous abortion accounts for about 15% of all pregnancies, and most of them are early abortions. There are also two specific types of miscarriage: missed miscarriage and habitual miscarriage.

In early spontaneous abortion, 50% to 60% of embryos have chromosomal abnormalities, most of which are abnormalities in chromosome number, followed by abnormalities in chromosome structure. Numerical abnormalities include trisomy, triploidy and X monosomy; structural abnormalities include chromosome breakage, inversion, deletion and translocation. Most embryos with chromosomal abnormalities end in miscarriage. A very small number may continue to develop into a fetus, but some functional abnormalities or combined malformations may occur after birth. If a miscarriage has occurred, the products of conception are sometimes just an empty gestational sac or a degenerated embryo.

The main symptoms of miscarriage are vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. Vaginal bleeding occurs in women who have a miscarriage within 12 weeks of pregnancy. At the beginning, the chorion separates from the decidua, the blood sinuses open, and bleeding begins. When the embryo is completely separated and expelled, the bleeding stops due to uterine contraction. The entire process of early miscarriage is accompanied by vaginal bleeding; in late miscarriage, the placenta has been formed and the miscarriage process is similar to premature birth. The placenta is discharged after the fetus is delivered. Generally, there is not much bleeding. The characteristic is that there is often abdominal pain first, and then vaginal bleeding. The abdominal pain during miscarriage is paroxysmal uterine contraction-like pain. After vaginal bleeding occurs in early miscarriage, the separation of the embryo and the blood clots in the uterine cavity stimulate uterine contractions, resulting in paroxysmal lower abdominal pain. The characteristic is that vaginal bleeding often occurs before abdominal pain. In late miscarriage, there are paroxysmal uterine contractions first, followed by placental detachment, so vaginal bleeding occurs after abdominal pain. During miscarriage, the size of the uterus, whether the cervix is dilated, and whether the membranes are ruptured are checked, which varies according to the number of weeks of pregnancy and the course of miscarriage.

An occasional abortion will not affect future fertility. However, multiple abortions may cause surgical complications. Abortion is only a remedy for the failure of contraceptive measures and can never be used as a substitute for contraception. Women of childbearing age should actively take effective contraceptive measures to prevent the harm of multiple artificial abortions to their physical and mental health.
