What should I do if I see blood in late pregnancy?

Some pregnant women experience bleeding in the late stages of pregnancy, which seriously threatens their health and safety. Therefore, pregnant women need to pay attention to take appropriate examinations and treatment methods in time to avoid dangerous situations caused by this problem. So what should you do if you see bleeding in the late stages of pregnancy? Let me introduce this issue to you below.

Spotting is a precursor to childbirth, so what? In the late pregnancy, expectant mothers will have some signs of labor before giving birth, such as spotting in the late pregnancy. If there is bloody secretions on the underwear in the late pregnancy, the whole family will become nervous and even go to the hospital immediately. In fact, after the bleeding in the late pregnancy, it is still early to the actual delivery time, so there is no need to be too anxious. Spotting is indeed a precursor to labor, but spotting must be accompanied by regular uterine contractions to indicate that labor is imminent.

Generally, a newborn will be delivered normally within 48 hours after the onset of bleeding, so if the onset of bleeding occurs in time, there is at least 12 hours to prepare. During this period, the mother's labor pains are not obvious and can be tolerated, so she can prepare items and maintain good personal hygiene before going to the hospital. There is another possibility of spotting in the late pregnancy, which is placenta previa. When the placenta previa occurs in the late pregnancy, the cervical canal disappears and the cervix dilates, resulting in bleeding caused by ruptured blood vessels. This is not a sign of delivery. I mentioned earlier that spotting as a sign of delivery must be accompanied by labor pains. In this case, this kind of painless spotting needs to be treated in the hospital, and a cesarean section may be performed if necessary.

The spotting before delivery is because the fetal head begins to fall into the pelvis, the fetal membrane and the uterus gradually separate, the friction will cause blood vessels to rupture, and the spotting phenomenon naturally occurs. The secretion of spotting is a brown viscous liquid, or a pink secretion. Contractions will occur within 24 hours after spotting. After spotting, the expectant mother should immediately stop what she is doing, notify her family, and prepare the procedures and items for admission to the hospital. Many expectant mothers begin to become nervous and even call for an ambulance, which is completely unnecessary. Expectant mothers must be mentally prepared before giving birth. There is no need to use an ambulance whether there is spotting or water breaking. Of course, if the obstetric hospital you choose has a dedicated delivery vehicle, it would be great. Call the hospital and ask the hospital's delivery vehicle to pick up the expectant mother, and notify them to prepare for admission.

The above is my opinion on this issue that I would like to introduce to you. If a pregnant woman has the above problems, she should pay attention to taking appropriate measures for treatment in a timely manner. This will ensure the safety and health of the patient and avoid the above problems affecting the patient's safety and health. Finally, I wish the pregnant woman a smooth delivery.
