Uterine transplant surgery and treatment

Uterine transplant surgery and treatment

Since the human body is not perfect, everyone is born healthy. Many people find that they do not have a uterus after development, or even have to undergo a uterus removal surgery due to some illness, which often affects fertility. There is a technology called uterus transplantation, but it is not very developed today. What is the surgical process like?

The uterus transplant surgery and subsequent conception process are divided into 6 steps:

1. The person who intends to donate the uterus takes the initiative to donate and undergoes a 6-month matching test at the organ donation center in advance to ensure genetic matching;

2. Perform uterine transplantation in a timely manner, because the removed uterus can only survive for 12 hours;

3. The recipient needs to take anti-rejection drugs for 3 months after the transplant surgery and before pregnancy;

4. After confirming that the newly transplanted uterus is functioning normally, the doctor will transplant the previously frozen embryos into the new uterus;

5. When the child is mature, he will be born by caesarean section;

6. After the birth of the child or 2 to 3 years after the uterus transplant, if there is no need to have children, the newly transplanted uterus will be removed to completely eliminate the rejection reaction.

This type of transplant can only be short-term. Perhaps the transplanted uterus can only stay in a woman's body for 2 to 3 years, and then it will be removed after the recipient successfully gives birth.

There are three important benefits after uterine fusion surgery and endometrial transplantation:

First, after uterine fusion surgery, not only can the reconstructed vagina not shrink, but it can also lengthen the vagina;

Second, because the uterus can lift up the vagina, the vagina will not be shortened due to improper postoperative care;

Third, if the shape of the uterus can be found during B-ultrasound examination, then it means that the woman is normal. A barren woman does not need to avoid the hospital and be afraid of examinations. She can freely participate in activities such as physical examinations. At the same time, the strength of the waist will increase (because the separated corners of the uterus are fused together after uterine fusion, like wearing a belt).

These three points are the biggest benefits after fusion. As long as the barren female patient can successfully fuse the uterus, it will be 100% successful. As for the success rate of having a baby and menstruating, it is affected by factors such as matching and anti-rejection drugs, and the success rate cannot be guaranteed to be 100%.

In the above article, we learned about uterine transplant surgery. The surgery is still in the laboratory stage. Uterine transplant surgery gives many uterus-less and infertile women a dream and ideal of having a child, and it creates miracles for everyone.
