Is it normal to bleed after taking metronidazole?

If you suffer from candidal vaginitis, you can use metronidazole suppositories for vaginal application for treatment. If the vaginitis is severe or there are conditions such as cervicitis and cervical erosion, the capillaries on the surface of the mucosa may be irritated after the metronidazole is inserted, causing the capillaries to rupture and bleed. This condition is a normal manifestation. If the bleeding is not severe, no special treatment is required. If the bleeding is severe, the medication should be stopped until the bleeding stops and then the medication can be continued.

If a woman has cervical erosion and bleeds after using metronidazole effervescent tablets, it is generally considered to be due to drug irritation, causing bleeding in the cervical erosion area. This is generally a normal pharmacological condition, so the medication can continue to be applied vaginally. Another thing to consider is that during the application of the medicine, the woman's fingers touch the cervix or vaginal wall, causing local scratches and bleeding. If the bleeding continues to increase, it is not clear whether it is because the vaginal medication coincides with the onset of menstruation.

For most patients, vaginal bleeding is unlikely to occur when using ornidazole effervescent tablets. If vaginal bleeding occurs during the use of the drug, it may be that the patient's Trichomonas vaginitis is severe and the mucosal hematoma and edema are present. In this case, bleeding may occur. In addition, it can be seen that during the period of applying the medicine, the patient's posture is not skillful and the vaginal mucosa may be cut accidentally, which may also cause vaginal bleeding.

During the use of the drug, if bleeding occurs, you need to pay attention to the daily cleaning of the private parts. At the same time, it is strictly forbidden to eat spicy food or irritating food, change underwear frequently, and observe vaginal bleeding. If vaginal bleeding is mild, no special treatment is required. If vaginal bleeding is heavy, go to the hospital for medical examination at any time to confirm the diagnosis.
