How thick is the endometrium after ovulation?

The thickness of the endometrium changes with the female menstrual cycle, so what is the thickness of the endometrium after ovulation? Many female friends do not understand this issue. In fact, the thickness of female endometrium is different at different times. This is mainly due to changes caused by different ovarian endocrine hormones. Let us learn about it in detail.

The endometrium has different names at different times. During the ovarian cycle, when follicles develop and mature in the ovaries, the endometrium proliferates under the action of estrogen secreted by the ovaries, which is called proliferative endometrium. After ovulation, the progesterone and estrogen secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovaries cause the proliferative endometrium to secrete, which is called secretory endometrium. After the corpus luteum in the ovary degenerates, due to the decrease in the amount of estrogen and progesterone, the endometrium loses its support and becomes necrotic and flaky, which manifests as menstruation, that is, the menstrual endometrium. During menstruation, the functional layer of the endometrium is shed, leaving the basal layer.

The thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle, and it changes cyclically with the changes in ovarian endocrine hormones. Regarding the thickness of the endometrium during ovulation, on the 15th to 28th day of menstruation, the endometrium is 5-7mm thick, and the endometrium thickness of an adult uterus during ovulation is 7~8cm. The width of the endometrium is 4-5cm during ovulation, and the thickness of the endometrium increases by 2-3cm during ovulation.

In fact, the thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle. The normal endometrial thickness during ovulation is 7-8 mm, and increases to 10 mm after ovulation.
