What are the causes of blockage on one side of the fallopian tube?

The fallopian tube is a very important organ for female reproduction. If there is a problem in this place, it can easily lead to infertility. Since the fallopian tubes are bilateral, both are likely to have lesions. Among them, blockage on one side is more common. We must understand the cause and deal with it actively. So, what are the reasons for one side of the fallopian tube to be blocked? Let’s take a closer look below.

⒈ Fallopian tube factors: The fallopian tube has the function of transporting sperm, picking up eggs and transporting fertilized eggs to the uterine cavity. Fallopian tube disease is the most common factor in infertility, and any factor that affects fallopian tube function will affect fertilization.

① Incomplete development of the fallopian tube: Poor development of the fallopian tube affects peristalsis, is not conducive to the transportation of sperm, eggs and fertilized eggs, and is prone to fallopian tube pregnancy; congenitally excessively slender and twisted fallopian tubes affect the movement of sperm or eggs.

② Inflammation of fallopian tubes: Inflammation of fallopian tubes can cause adhesion of the fimbria or obstruction of the lumen. Adhesion of the fallopian tubes to the surrounding tissues affects peristalsis and causes infertility. Tubal tuberculosis causes tubal stiffness, fistulas, etc.

③ Lesions around the fallopian tube: endometriosis is the most common disease, in which the ectopic endometrium forms nodules in the fallopian tube or the ectopic endometrium outside the pelvic cavity causes fallopian tube adhesions.

⒉Ovarian factors

Factors that affect follicular development or egg discharge, such as incomplete development of ovarian follicles, inability to ovulate and form a corpus luteum, premature ovarian failure, polycystic ovaries, and ovarian tumors, can all cause infertility. For example, the follicle can mature but cannot rupture, so the egg cannot be discharged, its basal body temperature is normal biphasic, and the changes in hormone levels in the blood are also completely normal. This disease is called unruptured follicle syndrome.

3. Endocrine factors

When the hypothalamus is not fully developed or the maturation of the hypothalamic cycle center is delayed, the regulation between the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis is imperfect, thus manifesting as anovulatory menstruation, amenorrhea or corpus luteum dysfunction, which are possible causes of infertility. In addition, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism and adrenal cortex hyperfunction or hypofunction can also affect ovarian function and hinder ovulation.

4. Congenital factors

Severe congenital dysplasia of the reproductive system, such patients are often accompanied by primary amenorrhea. Sex chromosome abnormalities, such as Turner syndrome, true and false hermaphroditism. Habitual miscarriage caused by chromosomal abnormalities, etc.

5. Systemic factors

Nutritional disorders, metabolic diseases, chronic wasting diseases, simple obesity, etc. Taking raw cottonseed oil, toxic chemical reagents, radiation exposure, microwaves and other physical factors.

The above is an introduction to the reasons for the obstruction of one side of the fallopian tube. I hope it will be helpful for patients to understand. The harm caused by blocked fallopian tubes to patients is quite serious. Since there are many factors that cause children's illness, when this happens, it is best to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis. Only when the cause is found can better treatment be possible.
