Diagnosis and differentiation of high prolactin in women

Diagnosis and differentiation of high prolactin in women

For a woman, in order to ensure her own health, she must ensure her prolactin is in a normal state to keep herself away from diseases. However, some women cause a lot of harm to their bodies due to high prolactin levels. Therefore, many women want to know how to identify the diagnosis of high prolactin in women. In order for you to understand it as soon as possible, please take a look at the introduction below.

1) Symptoms are often clues to this disease, and it is necessary to understand the patient's menstrual history, reproductive history, breastfeeding history and medication use, as well as changes in male sexual function. It is also necessary to pay attention to whether the patient's disease is related to increased PRL levels. It is important to exclude physiological and pharmacological factors, and the causes of related diseases must also be preliminarily identified.

2) Serum PRL determination and PRL dynamic test In cases of high PRLemia caused by non-prolactinoma, PRL rarely exceeds 200ng/ml. If it exceeds 200ng/ml, it is very likely to be a PRL tumor. The larger the PRL tumor, the higher the PRL level, which may even exceed 2000ng/ml. Mild increase in PRL (<60ng/ml) may be due to stress or pulse secretion peak. To avoid stress, blood can be collected for 3 consecutive days or 3 consecutive times on the same day, with each blood collection one hour apart. The 3 serum measurement values can exclude the pulse peak, which is helpful for the judgment of high PRL secretion. Drugs that stimulate PRL secretion, such as TRH, metoclopramide, chlorpromazine, and cimetidine, or drugs that inhibit PRL secretion, such as levodopa, can be used selectively to observe the dynamic changes of PRL. PRL tumors show no obvious changes or weakened responses to the above-mentioned stimulants and inhibitors, which can be used to differentiate idiopathic hyperPRLemia from RPL tumors. However, their discriminatory value is lower when PRL levels are high.

3) Other endocrine function tests, such as thyroid function test, gonadotropin, E2 and testosterone test, GH and ACTH test, DHEA test, etc., should be performed in different situations to help determine the cause and condition.

IV) For imaging examination, see pituitary tumor and PRL tumor.

Diagnosis and differentiation of high prolactin in women. The above content provides diagnosis and differentiation methods for many patients. Therefore, for many patients, when they get this disease, they must have a comprehensive understanding of the above content, understand its diagnosis and differentiation, and then find out the cause through diagnosis and differentiation, and improve it as soon as possible through effective treatment.
