How many days of delayed menstruation is considered pregnancy

After sexual intercourse, semen accumulates in the female vagina. There are a lot of sperm in the semen, and the survival time of sperm is about 72 hours. The active sperm goes through the uterus to the ampulla of the fallopian tube to meet and fertilize the egg. The sperm and egg combine and then pass to the uterus through the bilateral fallopian tubes. They "swim" in the uterine cavity for 2-3 days, looking for a suitable starting point. The embryo then implants and develops in the uterus until full-term delivery. This is the process of pregnancy. So, how many days of delayed menstruation is considered pregnancy?

Women's menstrual cycle is generally 28 to 30 days. About 7 days early or late is still within the normal range, and the length of the cycle varies from person to person. However, if menstruation does not come after more than 7 days, it is considered delayed menstruation.

The main reasons for delayed menstruation need to be considered at two levels. The first is pregnancy, and the second is irregular menstruation. If you want to diagnose whether you are pregnant as early as possible, it varies from person to person. The earliest pregnancy can be detected as early as 20 days, and the latest may take 40 days. Testing the HCG content in the blood is a more accurate way to detect pregnancy, but the mother can also test it at home with a pregnancy test strip first.

Generally speaking, male sperm can reach the female's bilateral fallopian tubes within 1-2 days after intercourse, and tightly combine with the female's discharged egg cells in the bilateral fallopian tubes to produce sperm-egg fusion. The combination of sperm and egg is promoted by the microvilli in the fallopian tubes on both sides, and it will take about 6-7 days to reach the uterus. If the conditions are met, the embryo can implant on the uterine wall. Embryo implantation is a sign that a woman is pregnant. Therefore, it takes at least 6 or 7 days from fertilization to pregnancy.

Having sex without any contraceptive methods cannot rule out the possibility of pregnancy. It is best for women to take a pregnancy test after their period is delayed for more than 7 days.

The doctor said that according to the Chinese lifestyle, many experts suggest that the time for intercourse should be chosen at night. If the couple is more tired at night, they can have intercourse the next morning after a good rest.
