How to do a breast self-examination

How is a breast self-examination performed? Breast self-examination is not unfamiliar to female friends, but how to conduct a scientific and standardized examination? Especially for women over 30 years old, they will suffer from breast diseases to a greater or lesser extent. Regular breast self-examination is one of the effective measures to prevent breast diseases. The usual simple method of breast self-examination can be summarized in the following four steps: look, touch, lie down, and squeeze.

Stand in front of a large, well-lit mirror with your clothes pulled down to your waist and observe your breasts. Don't scream if your breasts are different shapes and sizes. Most women have breasts of varying sizes. Let your arms hang naturally and carefully observe any changes in the size, shape, position of the breasts or skin, including wrinkles, dimpling, ulcers and discoloration. Check your nipples for dimpling, scaling, and changes in orientation.

Next, place your palms on your hips and press down hard to highlight the pectoral muscles in front of your breasts. Turn your body to clearly check the external changes of your breasts.

Then, bend over in front of the mirror, rotate your arms and elbows, and tighten your pectoral muscles so that your breasts fall forward, and observe the changes in breast shape and contour.

Next, clasp your hands behind your head, press your arms forward, and rotate your body to observe the outer part of your breasts. Remember to check the edges of the breasts, which require you to hold them up with your hands.
