Dietary considerations for stomach discomfort in late pregnancy

Stomach discomfort is generally caused by long-term inattention. Sometimes, not liking to eat breakfast and eating spicy food in daily life can cause gastrointestinal discomfort. The phenomenon of stomach discomfort in late pregnancy has become a problem of concern to many pregnant friends.

(I) The following points should be noted in diet:

1. Avoid foods that can strongly stimulate gastric juice secretion, such as coffee, strong tea, cocoa, chocolate, thick broth, chicken soup, overly sweet foods, alcohol, sweet potatoes, etc.;

Various spices and strong condiments, such as MSG, mustard, pepper, chili, fennel, and Sichuan pepper, should also be controlled.

2. Eat less foods high in crude fiber, such as cornmeal, sorghum rice and other coarse grains, dried soybeans, wild rice, bamboo shoots, celery, lotus root, leek, soybean sprouts, etc. You should also eat less hard foods, such as bacon, ham, sausage, clams, and peanuts.

3. Foods that produce a lot of gas, such as raw onions, raw garlic, raw radishes, onions, and garlic sprouts, are not good for stomach problems.

(II) Dietary principles for people with poor stomach

1. It is advisable to eat soft and easily digestible foods, and avoid large, hard, and high-fiber foods to reduce mechanical stimulation to the ulcer surface.

2. Eat small meals frequently, at regular times and in regular amounts. Eating a small amount can reduce gastric acid secretion; eating more meals can make up for the lack of food intake. Generally, you should not eat too much at each meal. It is appropriate to eat 2/3 of the normal amount and 4 to 5 meals a day. Timing and quantitative intake play an important role in maintaining gastric juice secretion and normal physiological function.

3. In order to promote ulcer healing, it is necessary to provide a nutritionally comprehensive diet, especially foods with high protein nutritional value.

4. The best cooking methods should be steaming, boiling, stewing, roasting, braising, and stewing. Dry frying, deep frying, pickling, and frying are not suitable. Avoid foods that are too sweet, too salty, too hot, or raw or cold.
