What is the reason for lower abdominal pain after menstruation?

Nowadays, we often hear many women complaining about a dull pain in their lower abdomen after menstruation. Many people think that pain in the lower abdomen before menstruation is a symptom of dysmenorrhea and is relatively normal. But why is there still a dull pain in the lower abdomen when the menstruation is obviously over? What is the cause of this?

It may be a symptom of dysmenorrhea caused by uterine cold; dysmenorrhea can manifest as periodic lower abdominal distension, cold pain, burning pain, stabbing pain, dull pain, heaviness, colic, spasmodic pain, and tearing pain during women's menstrual period or before and after menstruation. The pain may extend to the sacrum, lumbar back, and even involve the thighs and feet. It is often accompanied by systemic symptoms: breast tenderness, anal distension, chest tightness and irritability, sadness and irritability, palpitations and insomnia, headache and dizziness, nausea and vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea, fatigue and pale complexion.

The high incidence, wide range, close cycle and great pain have seriously affected the work and study of many women and reduced their quality of life. Dysmenorrhea without organic lesions of the reproductive organs is called primary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea is common in adolescent women. There are many causes of dysmenorrhea.

Bad habits: some girls love to eat snacks, and eat cold drinks and raw and cold foods such as pears during menstruation, which can easily lead to stagnation of Qi and blood. As Chinese medicine says: if there is no blood flow, there will be pain, which will naturally aggravate dysmenorrhea; excessive physical labor will aggravate bleeding and dysmenorrhea; catching cold due to cold weather or too few clothes. You will feel the cold evil. It causes stagnation of Qi and blood and blockage of meridians, thus aggravating dysmenorrhea. Physiological factors: Due to the increase of prostaglandins in the endometrium, the uterus contracts excessively or uncoordinatedly. Local hypoxia in the uterus leads to the release of peroxides and histamine, causing dysmenorrhea.

Therefore, for women, lower abdominal pain after menstruation may be largely due to symptoms caused by uterine cold. It is very important for women to keep warm during menstruation, otherwise lower abdominal pain will occur after catching a cold. It is also good to drink some brown sugar water for maintenance.
