Therefore, we recommend that female friends pay attention to protecting their cervix in daily life. Cervical erosion is a type of cervical disease. Below we will introduce to you the consequences of cervical erosion.

1. Cancer

Cervical erosion increases the risk of cancer. According to gynecological experts, the incidence of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is nearly ten times higher than that of the general population. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia may occur in the columnar epithelium derived from the proliferation of the cervical canal. If it is not treated promptly and correctly, it will gradually develop into cervical precancerous lesions. Because cervical erosion is often accompanied by HPV infection, it is one of the suspicious signals of causing cervical cancer. This development process generally takes 5-10 years.

2. Deterioration

It can cause deeper lesions due to chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation, which can cause polyps, lacerations, eversions and cysts, and even cancer.

3. Infertility

Cervical erosion can cause infertility. When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate or severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become thick in texture, and contain a large number of white blood cells. This will have an adverse effect on sperm motility, hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, and affect conception.

4. Concurrent with other diseases

Cervical erosion leads to complications. When suffering from cervical erosion, it will cause inflammation of other organs. For example, the pathogens of cervical erosion can ascend to cause endometritis; it can spread through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels to cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease; when the inflammation spreads to the bladder triangle, it can cause urinary system diseases and cause irritating symptoms such as urinary pain, frequent urination or difficulty urinating.
