Small polyps can be removed with a vascular clamp and slight pressure can be applied to stop the bleeding, or a piece of gauze can be stuffed at the neck and removed after 24 hours. If the polyp is large and has a thick pedicle, the base end can be cauterized to stop bleeding after removal. If there are multiple lesions, the cervical canal can be slightly dilated and then scraped thoroughly, and a diagnostic curettage can be performed at the same time. All specimens should be sent for pathological examination to determine whether further treatment is needed. Anti-infection drugs may be given after the operation, and attention should be paid to whether there is bleeding.

Precautions after uterine polyp surgery

After cervical polyp surgery, female friends should pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene. While ensuring their own personal hygiene, they should also pay attention to the hygiene between husband and wife in time to avoid infection and recurrence of the disease. At the same time, it is not advisable to have sex right after treating cervical polyps. You should go to the hospital to check your recovery status after one month. Try to avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, fishy and other irritating foods. After cervical polyp surgery, you should go to the hospital for regular check-ups. The first check-up should be about 3 months after the surgery, and then every six months to one year. In addition to taking good care of yourself during menstruation, after childbirth or after miscarriage, you should pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva in your daily life to prevent vaginal inflammation and cervical erosion. At the same time, you should maintain sexual hygiene. In addition, you should frequently dry your bedding, wear cotton underwear and wash and change it frequently. On this basis, regular gynecological examinations are also very important.

The scab shedding and bleeding period will last for 7 to 14 days after cervical polyp surgery, and the amount of bleeding will be heavier. If there is only a small amount of vaginal bleeding, no treatment is required, and it will stop on its own in 4 to 6 days. If the bleeding gradually decreases, the blood color is normal, and there is no accompanying discomfort, there is no need to worry too much, as it is a normal phenomenon.

If the amount of bleeding is heavy and continuous, the color turns black, or is accompanied by abdominal pain and other discomfort, it may be caused by cervical or uterine damage, infection, etc. It is recommended to seek medical attention as soon as possible and do not delay the treatment.
