What to do about labia minora cysts

What to do about labia minora cysts

Everyone knows that women are very beautiful, but compared to men, women's bodies are weaker and more susceptible to virus invasion and illness. In particular, gynecological diseases are one of the major problems that plague women. The most common diseases are vaginal diseases, but labia minora cysts have also become more common recently. So what should you do if you have a labia minora cyst? Let me introduce it to you today.

The Bartholin gland is responsible for secreting mucus and lubricating the vagina. It originally has its own opening, but if it is blocked by inflammation or dirt, the mucus cannot be discharged and will swell, forming a Bartholin gland cyst. If it swells too much, it will rupture on its own, and the pus will flow out and it will heal, but the wound that ruptures on its own will close, so it will swell again and recur. If a bag-shaped stoma is made to form an artificial new opening, the mucus and dirt in the Bartholin gland can be discharged and it will not recur.

Suggestions: Since Bartholin gland cysts can exist for a long time and remain unchanged for many years, if they do not interfere with daily life, they can be observed regularly without treatment. If the cyst gradually grows, or is repeatedly infected and often forms abscesses, a Bartholin gland cyst ostomy can be performed, which not only preserves the function of the gland, but also ensures smooth drainage and prevents recurrence. Since the Bartholin gland cyst removal surgery removes the gland, the function of the Bartholin gland is lost, so it is currently mostly replaced by ostomy.

Well, the Bartholin's glands are located at the back of the labia majora on both sides, and the gland ducts open on the inner side of the labia minora near the hymen. Due to the characteristics of the anatomical position, when the vulva is contaminated by sexual intercourse, childbirth or other situations, pathogens can easily penetrate and cause inflammation.

Suggestions: 1. Use antibiotics and Chinese medicine for external treatment

Inflammation of the Bartholin's glands is mostly caused by invasion of pathogens from the vulva. Antibiotic treatment has a certain effect, but it is often prone to recurrence and repeated infection. External treatment with traditional Chinese medicine has a satisfactory effect. For those in the acute stage with obvious gland swelling but no pus, 8 to 10 million U of penicillin or 320,000 U of gentamicin can be given by intravenous drip, and at the same time, 30 g each of Sophora flavescens, Gentiana scabra, and Licorice root can be decocted, the residue can be removed, and the affected area can be seated in a bath or fumigated. You can also grind Phellodendron chinense and Gypsum Fibrosum into very fine powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply to the swollen vulva surface. In addition, when fumigating the vulva, if possible, also flush the vagina at the same time to keep the entire vulva and vagina clean and hygienic.

2. Chinese medicine treatment after abscess incision and drainage

Once an abscess is formed, it should be incised and drained as soon as possible and thoroughly. At this time, combined with Chinese medicine for internal and external treatment, the pus can be discharged faster and the inflammation can subside quickly. The method of clearing heat and detoxifying is usually used as the main method, supplemented by methods such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and dispersing nodules, and draining pus. Medication: Chinese yam, double flower, forsythia, soapberry, pangolin, red peony root, moutan bark, astragalus, etc. After incision and drainage of pus, drainage is usually done with medicinal threads soaked in Scutellaria baicalensis, Phellodendron amurense, and borneol. Then use Cleanser or chlorhexidine wash to clean the vulva and vagina on time.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a good understanding of what to do about labia minora cysts. If you suffer from the same disease, don’t panic. You can go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and then treatment. Also, you should keep your genitals clean and it is best to change your underwear frequently.
