Introduction to minimally invasive uterine fibroid surgery

When we are sick, we need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment. When your condition is more serious, the doctor may recommend surgery. I don’t know if you have heard of minimally invasive uterine fibroid surgery. In fact, some women have a certain understanding of this aspect. Let me introduce it to you.

When there are too many uterine fibroids or the fibroids are too large, laparoscopic myomectomy has the disadvantages of small fibroids being easily left behind and difficulty in suturing and stopping bleeding in the residual cavity. Vaginal myomectomy can make up for such defects without losing minimal invasiveness.

Vaginal myomectomy is used for large fibroids located on the anterior and posterior walls of the uterus and for those with a large number of intramural fibroids. It is ideal if the uterine volume is less than 14 weeks of gestation or the diameter of the uterine fibroids removed is less than 10 cm. Laparotomy is recommended for patients with multiple fibroids, larger fibroids, a history of pelvic surgery, severe pelvic adhesions, and combined adnexal tumors. Laparoscopy is more appropriate for single or small subserosal fibroids.

Generally speaking, surgical treatment is recommended for fibroids larger than 2CM. The larger the fibroid, the more likely it is to develop pedicle torsion, which will require open abdominal surgery. Uterine fibroids are very common. After delving into the causes, most experts believe that it is related to the relatively high levels of estrogen in women's bodies. For example, if a female friend has an unharmonious marital life, too much family life and work burden, or is too mentally stressed, it may cause depression, resulting in dysfunction of the neuroendocrine system and imbalance of sex hormones, making it easy for uterine fibroids to grow.

There are generally two ways to treat uterine fibroids: medication and surgery. The specific method to be implemented depends on the specific size of the tumor. If the tumor is smaller than 2CM, medication can be used for treatment. If it is above 2CM, it will cause heavy bleeding, or excessive menstrual bleeding for a long period of time, and prolonged menstrual period leading to anemia, which cannot be cured by medicine.

Of course, you should still listen to the doctor's advice on what specific method is better for your condition. Don't try to find a solution on your own. After all, our body is not to be taken lightly. Some people may seek treatment casually to save money, but the result may make your condition worse, which is very bad.
