What to do if you are hungry at night during pregnancy

Pregnant mothers need to improve their nutrition to ensure their own nutritional needs, and more importantly, they need to provide nutrition for the fetus. Therefore, most pregnant mothers adopt the method of eating small and frequent meals during this period. But even so, sometimes I still feel hungry late at night. So, what should you do if you feel hungry in the middle of the night during pregnancy?

1. After entering the second half of pregnancy, pregnant mothers will have a better appetite. At this stage, most pregnant mothers can eat and sleep well. In addition, the fetus is also in a stage of vigorous growth and development, so they will always feel hungry in the middle of the night. In this case, you can eat appropriately to meet the nutritional needs of the body and fetus.

2. In the second trimester of pregnancy, you can prepare some whole grain fiber biscuits, vegetable and fruit biscuits, as well as bags of milk and bread, and snacks such as cakes. When you feel hungry at night, you should replenish energy immediately. Especially during pregnancy, if you feel hungry but do not eat immediately, it will always cause hypoglycemia and it is very easy to have side effects such as dizziness.

3. But after all, it is a meal at night, so the snacks prepared in advance should not contain too much sugar. Moreover, it is not recommended to eat too much food at one time. You should eat until you are about 70% full at night, so that you don’t feel obviously hungry. Because after all, you have to go to sleep, if you eat too much, it may cause indigestion during pregnancy.

In the second trimester of pregnancy, the baby's body length and weight gain are relatively fast, so more nutrients need to be provided to the baby. At this time, pregnant women will often feel hungry. So what should you do if you are hungry at night in the second trimester of pregnancy? Of course, you can't be hungry. At this time, the baby must be hungry, but because you need to go to bed immediately at night, pregnant women should eat something easy to digest, such as porridge. Milk is a good choice. And don't eat too much. Try to move around after eating to avoid adding load to the stomach and causing too much gastric juice to flow back, which is not conducive to sleep quality.
