What to do if you have pelvic pain during late pregnancy

Every girl is extremely excited when she is about to become a mother. We are extremely happy facing the little baby in our belly. However, some pregnant women also face pelvic pain in the late pregnancy. When we are husbands, do we feel heartbroken? We not only feel sorry for our wives, but also for the baby in their belly! Next, let’s take a look at what to do if you have pelvic pain in late pregnancy!

Hospital experts pointed out: Some pregnant women will experience pelvic pain during pregnancy. Doctors may recommend that you use a pelvic support belt to fix the pubic symphysis and reduce displacement during activities. In addition, you can also try the following methods to relieve pelvic pain during pregnancy: Don't endure the pain. If certain movements cause you pelvic pain, try to avoid them if possible. If you let this pain fester, it can take a long time to recover. Make small movements frequently. Because when you do some actions, you may not feel the consequences immediately, but later in the day or when you go to bed, you will feel pelvic pain. Sit down and rest often. When you sit down, keep your back as straight as possible and give it good support. Avoid lifting or pushing heavy objects (supermarket shopping carts can be particularly painful). Sit down when putting on your underwear and trousers, and do not stand up and lift your legs to put on your pants or skirt. When climbing stairs, take one step at a time. Place your stronger or more convenient leg onto the step first, then move your other leg forward. Repeat this movement for each step you take. Avoid movements that keep your legs apart for a long time, such as getting in and out of a car or a bathtub. If you must separate your legs, move slowly and carefully.

What causes pelvic pain? It can be roughly divided into the following five reasons:

1. Pain in bones and joints in the pelvic area. The pain caused by this reason is not very severe, usually just a feeling of back pain. It usually occurs during the second to third trimester. It is related to ligament relaxation after pregnancy and is a consequence of progesterone secretion. The pain can be relieved by calcium supplementation, sun exposure and proper exercise.

2. Symphysis pubis separation. The pain caused by this reason is so severe that it may even be impossible to move. It usually occurs in late pregnancy. You should seek medical attention promptly.

3. Pain caused by abnormal pregnancy. If premature birth, miscarriage, or pregnancy complicated by digestive tract diseases, appendicitis, etc. occurs, there will be a feeling of falling in the abdomen, sometimes accompanied by pain. It can happen at any time during pregnancy. You need to go to the hospital immediately.

4. Sciatica. It is caused by compression of the sciatic nerve due to inflammation or spinal misalignment. The pain extends from the buttocks to the leg, sometimes accompanied by a tingling sensation. It usually occurs in the second trimester and may improve in the third trimester. Studies show that approximately 1% of expectant mothers will experience sciatica during pregnancy.

5. Pain caused by inflammation. This type of pain is uncommon and usually occurs in expectant mothers who suffer from chronic pelvic inflammatory disease or have a history of surgery. Pain occurs because the surgical wound is stretched and adheres after pregnancy. It usually occurs in the second and third trimesters. Pelvic pain may be aggravated by the following situations? Usually, the pain is aggravated by lying on your back, turning over in bed, walking, or standing up from a sitting position. The pain may also be worse at night, and the intensity of the pain may be closely related to the level of activity during the day.

The above is what we should know how to do when we experience pelvic pain in late pregnancy. Are we qualified husbands? Do we care enough about our wives’ condition during pregnancy? Do we know how our wife will react during pregnancy? If we know a little more about this aspect and take good care of our pregnant wives, our wives will be very touched!
