Early pregnancy check-up items

I believe everyone knows that pregnancy check-up is a big deal. Some expectant mothers may feel nervous and uneasy, mainly because they are afraid that the examination will bring hidden dangers to the fetus, so some expectant mothers are unwilling to cooperate. In fact, this worry is unnecessary. The early pregnancy check-up is mainly to see what the living environment of the fetus is like. Therefore, early pregnancy examination is of utmost importance. Then let us find out what the early pregnancy examinations include.

Early pregnancy check-up items

Gynecological speculum examination

Understand the condition of the vagina and cervix, rule out abnormal development of the pregnant woman's reproductive organs, and provide a channel for the baby to be born smoothly; observe whether the vaginal mucosa is congested, whether the color and amount of vaginal secretions are normal, and whether there is any odor; see whether the cervix is eroded and whether there are cervical polyps; especially when bleeding occurs during early pregnancy, observe whether the cause of bleeding is related to the vagina and cervix to provide a basis for treatment.

Leucorrhea examination

Find out whether there are Trichomonas or fungi in the vagina, and if necessary, conduct chlamydia, mycoplasma, and gonococcal tests. If the above microorganisms are present, it is easy to cause ascending infection, affect embryonic development and induce miscarriage.

Cervical smear test

Because blood volume increases and blood supply is abundant during pregnancy, if a tumor occurs in the cervix, timely treatment can improve the survival rate. Therefore, this examination is mainly to understand the morphology of cervical epithelial cells and rule out the occurrence of cervical tumors. Of course, cervical smear examination is a relatively basic examination method. When doubts arise, further colposcopy or cervical biopsy pathological section can be performed to confirm the diagnosis.

Gynecological triple examination

The main purpose is to understand whether the size of the uterus is consistent with the month of menopause and whether the embryo is developing normally. When the size of the uterus does not match the month of menopause, an ultrasound examination is required to rule out uterine fibroids, uterine dysplasia, and embryonic dysplasia. If uterine fibroids are present, it is necessary to estimate the size and location of the fibroids and whether they will affect the growth and development of the embryo and require timely termination of pregnancy, and to estimate the nature of the fibroids as much as possible. At the same time, the doctor's examination also includes whether the bilateral adnexa are normal. When the ovaries are enlarged, it is necessary to distinguish whether it is a functional enlargement caused by pregnancy or an organic enlargement. If it is functional enlargement, it will naturally subside after three months of pregnancy. If it is benign organic enlargement, surgery should be performed as soon as possible after three months of pregnancy to reduce the miscarriage rate.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasound examinations are performed 40 and 60 days after menstruation to understand the implantation site of the embryo sac and the development of the embryo. Obstetric registration examination was performed 4 months after pregnancy, and ultrasound follow-up was performed according to obstetric requirements.

Other tests

Choose according to your own situation. If you suffer from heart, liver, kidney, thyroid disease, etc., you need to consult an internist to find out whether continuing the pregnancy will increase the risk. If spontaneous abortion occurs repeatedly, a comprehensive examination of both husband and wife during early pregnancy is very necessary.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of early pregnancy examinations, right? This examination is multi-faceted and covers almost every aspect of the body. Only a careful examination can detect problems early, which is very helpful for both pregnant women and fetuses.
