What causes cervical pain?

There are many reasons for cervical pain. It may be caused by rupture of the cervix or uterine trauma due to excessive sexual intercourse. It may also be caused by gynecological diseases or uterine inflammation. Therefore, women with cervical pain should use B-ultrasound to examine the cervix. Especially for women with gynecological diseases, timely treatment is required, otherwise it will affect their ability to conceive in the future.

Cervical pain is usually a sign of inflammation. The cervix is composed of connective tissue. The cervical canal mucosa secretes mucus and undergoes periodic changes under the influence of sex hormones because the cervix contains a small amount of smooth muscle fibers, blood vessels and elastic fibers. Its nerves are emitted from the presacral plexus, forming the pelvic plexus next to the cervix, and are distributed in the uterine body, cervix, etc. Therefore, cervical lesions often cause pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area, with a feeling of heaviness.

Treatment principles:

Identify the cause and treat it symptomatically. Acute cervicitis occurs after childbirth or surgery that damages the cervix. If not cured for a long time, it will turn into chronic cervicitis, which is manifested by cervical erosion, cervical hypertrophy, cervical polyps, cervical gland swelling and endocervical inflammation. Mild cervical erosion can heal itself, moderate cervical erosion can be treated with medication, and severe cervical erosion can be treated with electrocautery surgery. Cervical hypertrophy requires treatment with oral anti-endometritis tablets and external vaginal tablets. Cervical polyps and cervical gland swelling can be directly removed by surgery. Mild cases of cervical endometritis can be treated with oral anti-inflammatory drugs, while severe cases can be treated with injectable antibiotics.

prevention:

The key to effectively preventing cervicitis is not to start sexual life too early. To prevent infection, avoid unclean sexual life, as unclean pathogens can invade the cervix. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva and vagina. If inflammation is found, acute vaginitis, acute endometritis, etc. should be cured promptly and thoroughly. Avoid premature, excessive, and frequent births and miscarriages. Actively treat acute cervicitis. If not treated, it will turn into chronic cervicitis, which will recur and be difficult to cure. Avoid damaging the cervix during childbirth or with instruments, and conduct regular gynecological examinations to ensure early detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
