Why do I always have nightmares when I sleep at night?

As the saying goes, you dream about what you think about during the day. If you think too much during the day, you won't sleep well even when you go to bed. If this is the case with you, you should pay attention to it. If you don't sleep well, you won't be able to move normally during the day, which is also bad for your health. People who don't sleep well are particularly prone to aging. So we should pay attention to how we sleep, and don't let other trivial things disturb our good dreams. Any problems should be solved in time.

If you wake up from a nightmare in the middle of the night, sweating and breathing hard, it may be because of your sleeping position. Recently, a study in the United States showed that people who sleep on their stomachs are more likely to have nightmares than those who sleep in other positions.

Scholars from Hong Kong Shue Yan University interviewed 670 college students, two-thirds of whom were women, and asked them to complete a questionnaire about dreaming. The questionnaire asked them detailed questions about their sleep process, such as the frequency, intensity and theme of dreams and their sleeping position, such as sleeping on their side, stomach or back. The results showed that people who sleep on their stomachs are more likely to have dreams about things related to "sex" and "persecution" (such as being tied up, locked up, and unable to move). Scholars believe that the reason why these scenes are prone to appear in dreams is that the prone position prevents sleepers from getting enough oxygen from the breathing process, causing their brains to lose consciousness and think that the body is being stimulated externally, resulting in contraction. The brain in a sleeping state is not completely disconnected from the external environment and stimuli. It will convert external stimuli into specific images in the brain.

If you always have trouble sleeping at night and often have nightmares, now you understand the impact this has on us. Therefore, we must pay attention to our sleeping conditions. The most important thing in a day is sleep. If you don’t sleep well, you will not have the energy to do anything!
