Did you know that women should be wary of allergic vaginitis in spring?

It is said that spring is the time when all things begin to wake up. Bacteria also begin to multiply rapidly at this time, which can easily harm our health. If we are not careful, we will be infected with some seasonal diseases. Most of the allergic diseases occur in spring. For example, women like to apply it to some private parts of the body when washing, which is conducive to the growth and reproduction of bacteria. We must be alert to this kind of problem.

Women's vagina is prone to allergies in spring. The characteristics of human vaginal mucosal blood flow may affect the concentration of various substances in the vagina, making these substances become local or systemic allergens.

Semen components, medications and foods taken by sexual partners, spermicides, soaps, sanitary napkins, latex, intestinal parasites and Candida albicans may induce immediate allergic reactions. In addition, pollen, dust or food particles may be inadvertently brought into the vagina through the hands and even absorbed throughout the body. Many studies have shown that vaginal immune responses contribute to recurrent vaginitis in some patients. IgE antibodies to Candida albicans, semen components, pollen, and contraceptive spermicides can be found in vaginal fluid, and in most cases eosinophils can be seen in vaginal smears.

Allergens selectively accumulate in the vaginal mucosal cavity and transport antigens through the duct system between the mucosal epithelium. It comes into contact with mast cells in the lamina propria of the mucosa, and the two react with each other. The mast cells degranulate and release histamine and other inflammatory mediators, resulting in symptoms of allergic vaginitis.

Histamine is a potential inducer of macrophage prostaglandins, inducing the production of prostaglandin E2, which inhibits cellular immune responses. The mechanisms of resistance to fungi rely on cellular immunity, so the resulting Candida vaginitis is secondary to the primary allergic vaginitis.

How to self-diagnose allergic vaginitis?

1. The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge, which is purulent and bloody leucorrhea, and the discharge of rotten tissue with a foul odor.

2. Vaginal examination may reveal vaginal mucosal erosion and ulcer formation. If the disease lasts for a long time, extensive and hard scar adhesions may form in the vagina, causing vaginal stenosis or even atresia.

3. If there is blood or pus accumulation in the vagina or uterus, an anal examination may reveal a swollen vagina and enlarged uterus.

4. The occurrence of symptoms is clearly correlated with systemic or local medication.

Preventing allergic vaginitis requires changing your lifestyle

1. Use unscented sanitary napkins instead of sanitary napkins with wings

Women should use unscented sanitary tampons and sanitary napkins instead of sanitary napkins with wings, because the glue on the wings mixes with sweat and causes itching and sensitization. Let patients know that the vulva is a moist organ and that physiological secretion is normal. Frequent use of sanitary pads affects local ventilation, which is conducive to the growth of Candida and causes allergies.

2. Use white unscented toilet paper

To reduce irritation or sensitivity, use unscented sanitary products and avoid using sanitary napkins or toilet paper with fragrances. In addition, do not use disinfectants to clean the vagina indiscriminately to avoid irritating the delicate skin and causing local skin damage or even inflammation.

3. Avoid frequent contact with chemicals

Avoid all topical medications, underarm odor lotions, perfumes, alkaline or colored soaps, bubble baths, chemical rinses, depilatories, shaving creams, and excessive washing habits.

4. Avoid semen from staying in the vagina for a long time

Avoid prolonged retention of semen in the vagina because semen has immunosuppressive effects and alters vaginal pH. Do not douche the vagina or clean the vulva after sexual intercourse to reduce the irritation of chemicals to these areas.

From this we can see that our living habits are the key to getting sick. We must develop good living habits so that those bacteria cannot attach to our bodies and we will not get sick.
