I believe everyone is familiar with depression, and everyone knows a little about it. It is a common emotional disorder. We all know that patients with depression cannot always control their emotions and are always in a low mood. In fact, for depression, early treatment can still lead to early recovery, but because many people do not know the signs of depression, they always delay treatment. Let’s now look at the signs of depression. 1. Depressed mood. This is the most important characteristic of patients with depression. Those with mild symptoms are in a bad mood, distressed, sad, and sighing all day long; those with severe symptoms are depressed, pessimistic, desperate, and have suicidal tendencies. 2. Lack of pleasure. Loss of interest in daily life and inability to enjoy various entertainment or pleasant things. Those with mild symptoms try to avoid social activities; those with severe symptoms stay alone, distance themselves from relatives and friends, and avoid socializing. 3. Persistent fatigue with no apparent cause. In mild cases, patients feel physically tired, overwhelmed, and lose enthusiasm and initiative in life and work; in severe cases, patients cannot even take care of eating, drinking, and personal hygiene. 4. Sleep disorders. About 70% to 80% of depression patients have sleep disorders. Patients usually have no difficulty falling asleep, but wake up after a few hours, so it is called early morning insomnia, mid-night awakening and terminal insomnia. After waking up, they are in a depressed mood again. People with anxiety disorders may have difficulty falling asleep and have frequent nightmares. A small number of patients with depression sleep too much, which is called "sleep-prone depression." 5. Changes in appetite. The symptoms include reduced food intake and weight loss. In severe cases, the patient may lose appetite all day long. However, a small number of patients may also have an increased appetite. 6. Physical discomfort. Patients with depression generally experience physical discomfort. Patients often seek medical attention and treatment for symptoms such as unexplained pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, tightness in the throat and chest, constipation, indigestion, flatulence, palpitations, and shortness of breath, but most symptomatic treatments are ineffective. 7. Low self-esteem. In mild cases, people feel inferior, useless, and worthless; in severe cases, they describe themselves as worthless, have a strong sense of guilt and self-blame, and may even choose suicide as a way of self-punishment. 8. Suicidal thoughts and behaviors are the most dangerous behaviors of depression. Patients with severe depression often choose suicide to escape their pain. 9. Others. Elderly patients with depression may also experience symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, low libido, and memory loss. The above introduces the signs of depression. If we understand the signs of depression, we can detect them in time when similar symptoms appear, so as not to miss the best time for treatment. mso-spa^n"[Xt-family:宋体; font-size:10.5000pt; mso-font-kerning:1.0000pt; " > |
