Is dysmenorrhea a disease?

When it comes to dysmenorrhea, I believe most of my friends know about it, especially our female friends, who should have a certain understanding of it. But after all, most people don’t know much about dysmenorrhea, so when asked whether dysmenorrhea is a disease, few people know. In fact, many people who study this field do not understand this issue. However, this issue is very important for our women, so it is necessary to understand this issue.

In the eyes of many people, dysmenorrhea is not actually a disease, because many people often experience dysmenorrhea in real life, so they think it is a common manifestation of women's body, so they generally do not regard dysmenorrhea as a disease. In fact, this may just be their own idea. So let’s take a detailed look at the question of whether dysmenorrhea is a disease.

Dysmenorrhea is a common and frequently occurring gynecological disease and it is best to treat it early.

Dysmenorrhea is cyclical lower abdominal pain that occurs during and before and after menstruation. It often occurs before and during menstruation, and occasionally occurs within a few days after menstruation. The lower abdominal pain is cramping and bloating, and may radiate to the lumbar region, inner thighs, and around the anus. It may be accompanied by pale complexion, nausea, vomiting, chills in the whole body or lower abdomen, frequent bowel movements, and collapse may occur when the pain is severe. The degree of dysmenorrhea depends on subjective feelings and there is no objective standard, so the incidence rate varies.

Dysmenorrhea is divided into two types: primary and secondary. Secondary dysmenorrhea occurs 2 years after menarche. The age and course of dysmenorrhea vary for different diseases, and the early and late onset of dysmenorrhea also varies.

Clinical manifestations

Primary dysmenorrhea begins at menarche and the patient will feel a distension and cramping pain in the lower abdomen every time menstruation comes. In severe cases, it is accompanied by nausea and vomiting. The pain area may radiate to the back and inner thighs. The pain lasts for 48 to 72 hours. Even though the menstrual flow is heavy and there are blood clots and tissue, the pain will only be relieved after the discharge. Generally, the discharged tissue is pink, flaky, and of varying sizes. Sometimes there are whole triangular tubular objects. This is caused by the endometrium shedding in one piece. This tissue is called decidual tubular type. This type of dysmenorrhea is also called membranous dysmenorrhea. Transrectal examination (for unmarried persons) showed no obvious positive signs. If the history of dysmenorrhea is long, it may be found that the uterus has poor mobility, masses are formed in the bilateral adnexa or nodules in the posterior depression, and there is tenderness. She may suffer from endometriosis or ovarian chocolate cyst, which often presents as secondary dysmenorrhea.

Therefore, after the detailed introduction in the above article, I believe everyone should have known the above problem. In fact, the so-called dysmenorrhea is a kind of disease. So for those who often suffer from dysmenorrhea, when dysmenorrhea occurs, we can all use appropriate methods to relieve our dysmenorrhea symptoms to a certain extent, or we must restrain ourselves when it is time to do so.
