The diet of pregnant women is now receiving more and more attention. Many pregnant women and their families know the importance of diet for pregnant women. A good diet can not only make pregnant women healthy but also has great benefits for the growth and development of the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women must understand what they can and cannot eat, and they must master some health preservation methods for pregnant women. It is best for pregnant women not to take medicine, whether it is Chinese or Western medicine, because the fetus is in the development stage and its own immunity is very low. However, there are many Chinese medicines that have the effect of stabilizing the fetus and are indeed beneficial to pregnant women. So can pregnant women eat Baibu? Stemona, also known as Stemona grass; angiosperms, is the upright Stemona of the Stemonaceae family. Latin name: The dried root of Stemona sessilifolia (Miq.) Miq., Stemona japonica (Bl.) Miq. or Stemona tuberosa Lour. The erect Stemona jasminoides is mainly produced in Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Zhejiang and Shandong, the creeping Stemona jasminoides is mainly produced in Zhejiang, and the opposite-leaf Stemona jasminoides is mainly produced in Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan and Guizhou. Dig up in spring and autumn, remove the fibrous roots, wash, blanch in boiling water or steam until there is no white core, take out and dry. Sweet, bitter and slightly warm in nature. It enters the lung meridian. It is mainly used to moisten the lungs, relieve gas, stop cough and kill insects. Used for new and chronic cough, tuberculosis cough, whooping cough; used externally for head lice, body lice, pinworm disease, and genital itching. Honey and Stemona can moisten the lungs and relieve cough. Used for Yin deficiency and fatigue cough. 1. Antitussive and expectorant effects Stemona alkaloids can reduce the excitability of the respiratory center of animals, inhibit the cough reflex and have an antitussive effect. It has also been reported that the decoction of Stemona 0.6-0.9g/kg Oral administration had no antitussive effect on the cough induced by 1% iodine solution injected into the right pleural cavity of cats; intraperitoneal injection of 10ml/kg of Stemona extract had no antitussive effect on the cough induced by sulfur dioxide in mice. Oral administration of 2ml/kg of 100% Stemona extract to rabbits had no expectorant effect. 2. In vitro tests on the anti-pathogenic microorganisms show that the decoction and alcohol extract of Stemona have different degrees of inhibitory effects on pneumococci, beta-hemolytic streptococci, meningococci, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Escherichia coli, Proteus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Corynebacterium pneumoniae, Yersinia pestis, Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus subtilis, Vibrio cholerae, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The water extract of Stemona ramospermi has a certain inhibitory effect on certain pathogenic fungi in vitro. The decoction of Stemona ramospermi can reduce the pathogenicity of Asian influenza A virus to mice, and also has a therapeutic effect on infected mice. The Newcastle virus test using chicken embryos showed that Stemona ramospermi can extend the life of chicken embryos by 36 hours. 3. Insecticidal effect The water extract and ethanol extract of Stemona radiata and other varieties of Stemona radiata have a killing effect on mosquito and fly larvae, head lice, clothing lice and bed bugs. The effect of the alcohol extract is greater than that of the water extract. A 50% distilled water suspension of the ethanol extract of Stemona radiata can kill pubic lice in a few minutes of contact. Water extract is ineffective. 70% ethanol extract is more effective than DDT and pyrethrum in killing head lice and pubic lice. High concentrations of Stemona japonica have the effect of killing pinworms in vitro. 4. Effect on bronchial smooth muscle 0.2 ml of 100% Stemona bioalkaloid extract has a relaxing effect on the spasm of isolated guinea pig bronchial smooth muscle caused by histamine. Its effect intensity is similar to that of aminophylline, but it is slower and more lasting. Above, we introduced that pregnant women must pay great attention to their diet. Pregnant women must know what they can eat and what they cannot eat. The Baibu mentioned above is a type of traditional Chinese medicine. Although Baibu has a high medicinal effect, it is a type of medicine after all. Pregnant women are best not to eat Baibu. |
