Can pregnant women eat pickled peppers?

Some pregnant women particularly like to eat spicy food during pregnancy, especially pickled peppers. When people hear that they like spicy food, they may think that they are pregnant with a daughter. In fact, this has no scientific basis at all. Pickled peppers taste very spicy. For people who like spicy food, they are a delicious condiment. However, pregnant women should not eat pickled peppers. Too spicy food will be unbearable for the fetus.

The main nutrition of pickled peppers is that they contain some vitamins. It is not recommended to eat them frequently. Eating too much pickled peppers can cause inflammation of the throat and anal pain during defecation. If used as a seasoning for some dishes, you can eat a small amount.

Pickled pepper classification

1. Erjingtiao pickled pepper: This type of pepper is relatively long, spicy and fragrant, and is indispensable for making traditional Sichuan dish fish-flavored shredded pork;

2. Bullet-shaped pickled peppers: These peppers are shorter and heart-shaped, and are spicy enough. Because they are well-shaped, they are often used whole in pickled pepper dishes and are rarely processed into puree or cut into small pieces.

3. Mexican pickled peppers: This type of pickled pepper is not produced in Mexico, but was introduced from Mexico and is grown in Ya'an, Sichuan. It has thick flesh and is long olive-shaped. After pickling, it can be used as an appetizer, but it is not often used in pickled pepper dishes.

How to make pickled peppers

1. Red pepper. You can choose red pepper (pointed pepper or chili pepper) according to your needs. Of course, the ripe chili pepper is yellow.

2. Prepare a glass bottle that is large enough, preferably one with a glass lid. Similar to the kind used for soaking snake wine, with a conical frosted glass lid.

3. Prepare ingredients: a little star anise (aniseed, fennel), a little cinnamon, a little salt, a little rock sugar (to make the pickled peppers crisper), Daqu (both shochu and fermented glutinous rice)

4. Wash the red pepper and dry it (no water marks to ensure it does not deteriorate)

5. Put all the Daqu, chili peppers and prepared ingredients into a large glass bottle.

6. Note: If the pepper stems are not removed, you need to use a needle to poke some small holes in the pepper to help the wine fully enter the pepper.

7. Seal and isolate from air to prevent the pickled peppers from spoiling.

Pickled peppers are very popular in Sichuan. People like to eat pickled peppers, which are also called pickled pepper oil chili. There is a lot of oil in the pickled peppers, which taste spicy and fragrant. However, in the north, pickled peppers are not eaten very much.
