Causes and treatments of vaginal itching

Causes and treatments of vaginal itching

Vulvar itching is one of the common symptoms in gynecological patients, which is mostly caused by vulva, vagina and some systemic diseases. When the itching is severe, it makes people restless and affects their work, study, life and sleep.

Common diseases that cause vulvar itching include:

Local vulvar lesions: common warts, herpes, eczema, vulvar squamous cell hyperplasia and lichen sclerosus, pubic lice, scabies, etc.

Vaginal diseases: Candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, senile vaginitis, gonococcal vaginitis, mycoplasma, chlamydia infection, etc.

Bad hygiene habits: not developing the habit of cleaning the vulva every day or coming into contact with irritating items, wearing synthetic underwear with poor breathability, or unclean underwear.

Systemic diseases: diabetes, jaundice, cholestasis, and unexplained pruritus.

Countermeasures

Wear loose, breathable cotton underwear, wash, change and dry it frequently to keep the vulva clean and dry, and keep the bedding clean and hygienic.

Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva. Special washing utensils should be prepared at ordinary times, with "one person, one basin, one towel, and one water". First, place a small square towel in a basin of water and boil it for 15 minutes, then let it cool before use. Before washing the vulva, you should cut your nails short and clean your hands. After washing, clean and dry the utensils.

Avoid eating spicy or irritating foods, quit smoking and limit alcohol intake, and avoid using irritating soaps, bath gels, and shower gels. Avoid scratching. When the itching is unbearable, you can divert your attention, such as listening to music, watching TV, outdoor activities, etc.

Pay attention to menstrual hygiene and use qualified sanitary napkins. Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment. If necessary, both husband and wife can receive treatment at the same time.

Clothes, bed sheets and quilts used should be used and washed separately to prevent transmission within the family, especially to protect baby girls or girls from infection.

When you are sick, you should not be ashamed to talk about your illness or avoid seeing a doctor. You should not "seek medical treatment at random" or follow advertisements and take medicine without authorization, which will cover up the lesion, affect diagnosis, and delay treatment. After a clear diagnosis, you must take medicine under the guidance of a doctor.
