Cervical cancer: Leucorrhea increases in volume and becomes thin, watery, rice-water-like or bloody, with a fishy odor. When cancerous tissue ruptures and becomes infected, the secretions may be purulent and have a foul odor.

Cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignancies. Globally, more than 200,000 women die from cervical cancer each year. The cause of cervical cancer (i.e. uterine cervical cancer) is still unclear. A large amount of data from home and abroad confirms that women who marry early, have children early, have multiple births, and have disordered sexual lives have a higher incidence rate. It is also believed that the cholesterol in smegma can be converted into carcinogens after being acted upon by bacteria. It is also an important cause of cervical cancer.

The main treatments for cervical cancer are surgery and radiation therapy. In particular, squamous cell carcinoma is more sensitive to radiotherapy. With the rapid development of anti-cancer chemical drugs in recent years, chemotherapy, which was previously considered ineffective for cervical cancer, has now become a common method of adjuvant treatment, especially in the late stage or recurrence. The efficacy of the treatment can be improved by using chemotherapy before surgery or radiotherapy, and then performing surgery or radiotherapy after the cancer has shrunk or partially shrunk, or by adding chemotherapy after surgery or chemotherapy.

How to prevent cervical cancer?

(1) Advocate late marriage and fewer and better births. Delaying the age of starting sexual life and reducing the number of births can reduce the chance of cervical cancer.

(2) Actively prevent and treat cervical ulcers and chronic cervicitis. During delivery, be careful to avoid cervical lacerations. If lacerations occur, they should be repaired promptly.

(3) Pay attention to sexual and menstrual hygiene. Moderate sex life appropriately, avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation and the postpartum period, pay attention to the cleanliness of both parties' reproductive organs, wear condoms during sexual intercourse, and reduce and eliminate multiple sexual partners.

(4) If the man has phimosis or prepuce that is too long, he should pay attention to local cleaning, and it is best to have a circumcision. This will not only reduce the risk of his wife suffering from cervical cancer, but also prevent his own cervical cancer.

(5) For high-risk groups for cervical cancer, including women who have sex too early or too often, women who give birth too early, too often or too frequently, women who have a history of promiscuous sex, multiple sexual partners or unclean sex, women in areas with poor sanitary conditions and lack of sexual health knowledge, women with cervical ulcers, tears, chronic inflammation and vaginal infection, and women whose spouses have foreskin that is too long or phimosis, special attention should be paid to regular screening. If conditions permit, cervical cancer emboli can be tried for preventive treatment.
