7 self-test methods for female ovulation test

The ovulation period is the time when women are most likely to get pregnant. Many female friends who are preparing for pregnancy will choose to have sex during the ovulation period. So how do women measure their ovulation period?

Spot bleeding observation method:

When the follicle is discharged from the ovary, it tears the ovarian wall and causes local bleeding. Usually, this little bit of blood is quickly absorbed into the abdominal cavity. However, there are also a few women who experience heavy bleeding, and the blood will flow through the fallopian tubes, uterus, and vagina to the outside of the body, leaving drops of blood on the underwear. Some women call it "small menstruation" and it is medically called "ovulation bleeding."

Basal body temperature method:

When you wake up early in the morning every day, take your body temperature immediately without any activity. This temperature is called "basal body temperature." Mark the basal body temperature measured every day on graph paper. Women with regular ovulation periods may find that the basal body temperature is often lower than 36.5 degrees Celsius about two weeks before ovulation, while the basal body temperature is often higher than 36.5 degrees Celsius about two weeks after ovulation. That is, in a month, a bidirectional curve appears with the basal body temperature being low at first and high at the end. The day when this bidirectional curve starts to rise is the ovulation period. Since the two ovaries ovulate alternately, it usually takes at least three months of measurement to truly understand the ovulation status of both ovaries.

Intermenstrual pain sensory method:

When ovulation occurs, the follicle slowly bursts and is released from the ovary, causing a bloating and pain in the lower abdomen. Because the time it takes for the follicle to rupture and release varies from person to person, for some people it only lasts for a few minutes, for others it can last for several hours, and some people even go to the hospital for treatment. This bloating and pain usually occurs between two menstrual periods, which is medically known as "intermenstrual pain."

Leucorrhea observation method:

During a menstrual cycle, leucorrhea does not remain constant. Most of the time, vaginal discharge is drier, thicker, and less in quantity. On the day between two menstrual periods, the leucorrhea is clear, bright, and plentiful, like egg white, or more like the clear nasal discharge during a cold. This day is the ovulation period. This is because a higher concentration of estrogen is produced during ovulation, which acts on the columnar epithelial cells at the cervical opening, causing them to secrete a large amount of leucorrhea.

Nipple tenderness method:

Women have an experience that sometimes nipples are very sensitive. You may feel pain when your nipples are rubbed or squeezed while taking a bath or changing underwear. This is because the nipples and milk ducts are very sensitive to estrogen. Under the action of estrogen produced during ovulation, the nipples become larger, redder, and darker in color, and they become very sensitive. At the same time, the milk ducts become thicker, larger, and longer, pushing the nipples outward.

B-ultrasound monitoring method:

Through B-ultrasound examination, experienced doctors can see the process of follicles being discharged from small to large. This method should be the most accurate.

Calculation method of menstruation backwards by 14 days:

During ovulation, women produce estrogen, which causes the endometrium to quickly become congested and thickened, providing a nutrient-rich "breeding ground" for conception. Generally, if conception does not occur after 9 days, the endometrium will fall off from the uterine wall, causing bleeding, which is menstruation. The shedding process of the endometrium generally takes 5 days, and usually, menstruation occurs on the 14th day after ovulation. Based on this, women with regular menstruation can calculate their ovulation period by counting backwards 14 days from the day their next menstruation starts.
