What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are the most common gynecological diseases. The occurrence of uterine fibroids will seriously affect women's normal life. Uterine fibroids will cause increased leucorrhea and irregular menstruation in women, affecting their menstrual cycle and the color of menstrual blood. It can also cause abdominal pain in women. At the same time, some patients with uterine fibroids will also have symptoms of secondary anemia, hypoglycemia, and eventually cause infertility in female friends.

1. Menstrual changes: The most common symptom is shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc.

2. Abdominal mass: The abdomen is swollen, and a mass can be felt in the lower abdomen, accompanied by a feeling of falling.

3. Increased leucorrhea: Increased leucorrhea, sometimes with a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge with a foul odor.

4. 5. Compression symptoms: The fibroids grow forward or backward and may compress the bladder, urethra or rectum, causing frequent urination, difficulty urinating, urinary retention or constipation. When the fibroids grow to both sides, broad ligament fibroids are formed. When they compress the ureter, they can cause hydroureteral or renal pelvis; if they compress the pelvic blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, they can cause lower limb edema.

6. Infertility: Fibroids compress the fallopian tubes, causing them to twist, or deform the uterine cavity.

7. Secondary anemia: If the patient has excessive menstruation for a long time, it may lead to secondary anemia, with symptoms such as general fatigue, pale complexion, shortness of breath, and palpitations.

8. Hypoglycemia: Hypoglycemia associated with uterine fibroids is also rare. The main symptoms are low fasting blood sugar, loss of consciousness and even shock. The symptoms can completely disappear after glucose injection. The symptoms of hypoglycemia disappeared completely after tumor resection.

According to clinical symptoms, TCM can be divided into the following syndromes:

1. Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome: In mild cases, menstruation is normal; in severe cases, there is metrorrhagia or continuous bleeding, breast pain, abdominal distension or dull pain, a feeling of falling in the anus, a dark red tongue with purple spots on the edges, and a deep, stringy or fine pulse.

2. Yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire syndrome: early menstruation, hemorrhage or continuous leakage during menstruation, burning sensation in the chest, or heat in the lower abdomen, itchy or tingling nipples, or distending pain in the breasts extending to the armpits, red or white vaginal discharge after menstruation, or a mixture of yellow and white, red tongue, dry or thin yellow tongue coating, and stringy or fine pulse.

Uterine fibroids can be said to be a very harmful disease to the health of female friends. Therefore, if female friends have the above symptoms in daily life, they must go to the hospital in time to rule out the possibility of disease.
