What are the symptoms of uterine polyps?

Uterine polyps are a disease that troubles many women. This disease usually occurs in women after giving birth and causes great harm to women. The symptoms of uterine polyps vary from person to person. Although this disease is more common in our daily life, many people still do not have enough understanding of the symptoms of uterine polyps, which will also affect the treatment of uterine polyps and the treatment effect of the disease.

There are many patients with uterine polyps. Although the symptoms of uterine polyps are relatively obvious, many women do not know much about their own health, which will affect the treatment of the disease. In order to detect diseases early, female friends should also pay attention to gynecological examinations in daily life so as to detect diseases early.

Very small uterine polyps often have no subjective symptoms and are mostly discovered during gynecological examinations. If the uterine polyps are larger, they are more likely to have symptoms of bloody leucorrhea or contact bleeding, especially after sexual intercourse or straining during bowel movements, a small amount of bleeding may occur. These symptoms are very similar to those of early cervical cancer and should be checked and treated promptly.

The cause of uterine polyps is generally believed to be due to long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, which causes the proliferation and accumulation of the cervical endometrium. But not all uterine polyps are accumulations of columnar epithelial hyperplasia caused by the endocervical endometrium. It is also common to see that a small number of patients with uterine polyps have polyps occurring in the squamous epithelium of the cervical vagina.

Although uterine polyps are a relatively common gynecological disease, they are small in size and may not cause any symptoms. Uterine polyps are often only discovered during examinations for other gynecological diseases. Larger uterine polyps may cause increased vaginal discharge, or complain of contact bleeding, especially spotting or bloody vaginal discharge after sexual intercourse or bowel movements. The amount of bleeding is generally not much. The roots of uterine polyps are mostly attached to the cervical canal or the external opening of the cervix. They are generally small, with a diameter of less than 1 cm, and can be single or multiple. There are also larger ones, which can reach several centimeters in diameter and have a pedicle that protrudes outside the cervical os as it grows. If the uterine polyps are small, they will remain in the cervical canal and only appear slightly at the cervical opening. Multiple uterine polyps often have relatively short pedicles and are clustered at the cervical opening. Polyps vary in size, with the smallest being only a few millimeters in diameter and the largest being several centimeters.

Uterine polyps located at the cervical opening will block some semen from entering the uterine cavity, which will inevitably reduce the amount of sperm and lower the pregnancy rate. Uterine polyps can also cause the mucus at the cervical opening to form a mucus plug, thereby hindering sperm from entering the uterine cavity. Therefore, female friends should treat uterine polyps in time.

Although there are many symptoms of uterine polyps, many women lack knowledge about this disease, which will affect the treatment effect of the disease. After discovering the disease, female friends should not worry too much. There are many methods to treat the disease. As long as you can actively carry out treatment, the disease can be cured.
